Job Title: Sales Manager

Location: Kolkata (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly driven Mid-Senior Level Sales Manager to lead regional sales operations, drive revenue growth, and build high-performing sales teams. The role includes strategy creation, execution oversight, client relationship management, mentoring, and expanding business opportunities within the assigned region.

This position requires a combination of leadership, analytical thinking, target orientation, and strong market understanding in order to deliver consistent business growth.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute regional and product-wise sales strategies

- Own end-to-end revenue targets, P&L contribution, and sales forecasting

- Identify, onboard, and manage key accounts and channel partners

- Lead, train, motivate, and monitor sales team performance

- Design and implement customer acquisition and retention strategies

- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify new business opportunities

- Strengthen long-term relationships with corporate and retail clients

- Drive cross-selling and upselling initiatives

- Coordinate with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product teams

- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly MIS and dashboards

- Develop and deliver business reviews and sales presentations

- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and company policies

- Optimize sales processes to improve conversion ratios and cycle time

- Handle escalations and ensure high standards of customer experience

- Participate in strategic planning and business expansion initiatives

- Support recruitment and capability building of the sales team

- Represent the organization in industry events, networking meets, and client forums

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

- Achievement of monthly/quarterly revenue and volume targets

- Growth in new customer acquisition and active customer base

- Channel partner productivity and activation rates

- Team performance metrics and attrition control

- Market penetration and share improvement in defined geography

- Sales pipeline development and conversion ratio improvement

- Customer satisfaction score and complaint resolution

- Timely reporting, forecasting, and data accuracy

- Contribution to new product launches and go-to-market execution

- Compliance adherence and audit readiness

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Commerce, or related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory)

- Minimum 3-5 years in a sales leadership or team handling role

- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets

- Experience in insurance, banking, NBFC, financial services, FMCG, telecom, or B2B sales preferred

Demonstrated success in:

- Sales strategy development

- Market expansion

- Partner/channel management

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong sales strategy planning & execution skills

- Excellent communication and negotiation ability

- Strong relationship management and key account handling

- Analytical ability for market trend and data interpretation

- Proficiency in sales forecasting & pipeline management
