Associate Legal Counsel

Who You Are:
You're a curious, self-driven legal professional with 2-4 years of relevant experience. You're excited to work in a lean, fast-paced environment where you'll own legal processes and get end-to-end exposure to product, data, commercial, and corporate legal matters. Outcomes Expected
Month 1: Learn the Ropes:
- Get up to speed on business, products, and legal operations.
- Understand our contract types, compliance approach, and negotiation process. Begin shadowing reviews and assisting with basic documentation.
Months 1-3: Start Owning Work:
- Take ownership of standard contracts (NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements).
- Support negotiations with clients alongside senior counsel. Deliver accurate legal work and maintain internal trackers and documentation.
Month 4 Onwards: Build Legal Muscle:
- Lead end-to-end negotiations for routine contracts. Support product, ops, and finance teams with legal needs.
- Contribute to process improvements (templates, clause banks) and assist in IP, compliance, and data privacy efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, negotiate, and vet commercial agreements (including SaaS, licensing, data sharing, MSAs, NDAs, etc.)
- Support in ensuring compliance with data protection laws (DPDP, GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Contribute to internal compliance, IP protection, and risk management frameworks
- Liaise with external counsels, partners, and regulators when needed
- Stay updated on evolving legal and regulatory landscapes and proactively inform internal stakeholders
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal legal processes and templates
- Provide strategic legal inputs during product development and client onboarding
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel (TMT, Fintech, or General Corporate)
- LL.B. required (LL.M. or certifications in data privacy/fintech are a plus)
- Strong skills in legal drafting and negotiation
- Understanding of software licensing, technology transfers, and data privacy
- Clear, confident communication-able to simplify legal concepts for non-legal teams
- Ability to manage multiple legal matters autonomously
