Associate General Counsel Location: Bangalore Qualification: LLB/ LLM The role will directly report to the General Counsel India, and CEO APMEA. Role Purpose : To lead the legal and compliance support for all entities in APMEA (Asia- Pacific, Africa, Middle East and India) region. Provide strategic legal counsel to business: 1. Provide legal advice to the business's regional senior leadership on all legal matters 2. Provide senior leadership across the business with strategic and operational guidance, aiding them in the management of litigation issues such as contract disputes and product liability. 3. Review and provide advice to the business on matters concerning applicable contracts required for operation of the business 4. Map external trends, look around corners, local Govt advocacy initiatives if required Contracting: 1. Identify and mitigate holistic risks in transactions 2. Participate in deal risk reviews 3. Advise on risk management and contract lifecycle 4. Negotiate and close contracts with key customers 5. Train and develop team skills 6. Partner with finance, HR, delivery and other key functions on solutions. Drive Adherence to Global Statutory Compliances (combine with ethical): 1. Oversee global compliance as per global and local laws and compliance requirements for all entities. 2. Review the emerging risks, assess its impact on APMEA and prepare and execute an action plan to be compliant 3. Manage labor and employment related matters Drive ethical compliance for all entities in APMEA region: 1. Ensure that ethical compliance requirements are being met in line with global and local requirements of the geography and code of business conduct, 2. Create mechanism for prevention, detection and response of compliance incidents 3. Work with central compliance team on region specific polices and roll our trainings 4. Build a culture of compliance in the region 5. Assess and address emerging market risks Data Privacy and Cyber Security: 1. Work with data privacy and cybersecurity teams on APMEA risk Team Management: a) Resourcing - Forecast talent requirements as per the current and future business needs.Hire adequate and right resources for the team b) Talent Management - Ensure adequate on boarding and training for the team members to enhance capability & effectiveness.Build an internal talent pool and ensure their career progression within the organization.Manage team attrition. Drive Diversity c) Performance Management - Set goals for the team, conduct timely performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to own direct reports.Ensure that the Performance Nxt is followed for the entire team d) Employee Satisfaction and Engagement - Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team.Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
