About the Role:
The Associate Director of Record to Report will lead and scale a vertical of 100+ finance professionals across a multi-tiered management structure.
This role is responsible for driving operational execution, achieving SLA/KPI excellence across complex and specialized accounting functions and controllership.
The ideal candidate combines technical accounting acumen with people management skills, focusing heavily on leadership coaching, talent development, and continuous process transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end Month-End Close (MEC), Quarterly Close, and Year-End Closure activities within strict deadlines.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive Month-End Reporting packages for executive leadership, regional entities, and global stakeholders.
- Perform rigorous Fluctuation Analysis (P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis) to identify, document, and explain key operational drivers period-over-period.
- Ensure strict accounting compliance across dual-reporting structures, including US GAAP, IFRS, and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS / Indian GAAP).
- Manage and review monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Serve as the key point of contact for internal, external, and statutory audits, ensuring audit readiness across all reporting frameworks.
- Govern the complete Fixed Assets lifecycle, including asset capitalization, depreciation processing, impairment testing, disposals, and physical verification exercises.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers in accordance with local statutory and US GAAP/IFRS accounting requirements.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities along with the management, including general ledger entries, distribution of expenditures, recording of accruals, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Hold accountability for the compilation, analysis and review of highly complex and sensitive financial information, typically for specialized purposes or priority projects.
- Present the team's final recommendations to the management.
- Train professionals in compliance with the Company's accounting policies, procedures, standards and internal controls.
- Drive the implementation of new procedures and processes.
- Review and evaluate areas having an accounting impact, sharing insights with management.
- Ensure internal and external auditors get the support they need by enabling the accounting professionals to provide relevant documentation, explanations, and timely delivery of accounting deliverables.
- Identify applications of technical and/or functional knowledge and existing methodologies to lead others to solve complex problems; provide advice on a wide range of issues within area of subject matter expertise.
- Contribute to setting standards around which others will operate within area of expertise.
- May act as advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad ranging projects.
- Impact policy development affecting multiple areas, linking with other parts of the organization function and across business areas or a segment, to ensure achievement of customer, operational, project/program, business or service objectives.
- Communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to influence decisions.
- Proven ability to lead and run financial shared services teams across accounting domain.
- Previous experience in setting up and expanding financial practice in an international set up would be of great advantage.
- Experienced leader in managing global accounting operations.
- Should have the ability to be hands on as this would help the team immensely in the setting up phase and ability to work under minimum supervision.

- People and process management seamlessly in a structured/unstructured environment.
- Ensure that business delivery plans are being adhered to as per agreement with the onshore team.

- Ability to manage various sub processes under accounting domain.
- Set up the KPIs, Goals and SOPs to build a strong foundation for the team to expand further.
- Mature the practice and adopt new and emerging market trends which will help the process.
- Focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leaders onshore, help them sustain service levels and provide support in further expansion.
- Groom team members at all levels and help create SMEs and future leads.
- Also groom people for future horizontal and vertical movements.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) only.
Required Skills:
- 15+ years of experience in leading accounting practice and managing accounting operations (at least 8+ years in a People/Process Management role).
- Should have led/managed global accounting teams.
- Strong problem solving skills with a keen eye/execution for process improvement.
- Additional knowledge and exposure to RPA would be a huge advantage.
- Knowledge and exposure to various ERP would be very helpful.
- Metrics management and creation.
- Working and succeeding in a SLA bound and driven set up.
- Ability to go micro or macro as per business need.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and a demonstrated aptitude for learning new things.
- Ability to work within a team environment, manage business stakeholders and independently coordinate and deliver commitments.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and mutually agree timescales with onshore managers.
