Assistant Vice President/Vice President - Finance & Accounting (Service Delivery / Transitions / FP&A)

Role Summary:

The Assistant Vice President / Vice President - Finance & Accounting will be responsible for leading end-to-end finance operations, service delivery, and strategic finance initiatives across global engagements. The role involves managing large teams, driving operational excellence, ensuring strong governance and controls, and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial outcomes across Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and related finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Operations & Service Delivery

- Lead end-to-end finance and accounting operations including R2R, P2P, O2C, Intercompany Accounting, Payments & Reconciliations, and Financial Reporting.

- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close in compliance with SLA, SOX, and regulatory requirements.

- Drive standardization, centralization, and optimization of finance processes across multiple geographies.

Leadership & People Management

- Manage and mentor large, multi-layered teams across global delivery centers.

- Drive performance through clear KPIs, productivity metrics, and continuous feedback.

- Lead talent development, succession planning, workforce planning, and engagement initiatives.

Financial Planning & Business Partnering

- Partner with senior stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.

- Provide actionable insights to leadership through data-driven financial analysis and dashboards.

- Support business decision-making through scenario analysis and financial modelling (where applicable).

Transitions & Transformation

- Lead finance transitions and migrations from onshore to offshore or across service providers.

- Own transition governance including process documentation (As-Is/To-Be), SOPs, SLAs, risk assessment, and knowledge transfer.

- Drive automation, digitization, and transformation initiatives using ERP systems and workflow tools.

Controls, Risk & Compliance

- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and risk management across finance processes.

- Act as a gatekeeper for financial accuracy, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity.

- Address audit queries and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal policies.

Stakeholder & Client Management

- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, auditors, and internal leadership.

- Drive governance forums, service reviews, and escalation management.

- Build long-term partnerships through consistent delivery, transparency, and value creation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Postgraduate / Graduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Management (CA / MBA preferred).

- 18+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting, Shared Services, or Global Service Delivery environments.

- Strong hands-on expertise in R2R, P2P, O2C, Intercompany, Reconciliations, and Financial Reporting.

- Experience leading large teams and managing multi-country operations.

- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or equivalent.

- Proven experience in transitions, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.

- Six Sigma / Lean certification preferred.

- Experience in driving transformation, automation, and cost optimization.
