Role Description:
- The AVP will be responsible for overseeing legal issues, providing legal advice, managing due diligence processes, and ensuring corporate governance practices are maintained.
- The role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role reports to the General Counsel.
Qualifications & key responsibilities:
- Expertise in handling legal issues and providing comprehensive legal advice.
- Experience in conducting due diligence processes.
- Knowledge of corporate governance practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the organization across a wide range of areas including Company Law, FEMA, RBI & SEBI Regulations, Data Privacy, ESG, IPR, AI governance, and more.
- Manage and oversee due diligence processes for business transactions and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with statutory laws and regulatory requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments.
- Lead and support corporate governance initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, shareholder agreements, and other legal documents.
- Liaise and manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Provide audit support and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and external parties.
- Work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
