Assistant Vice President - Financial Reporting - Insurance - CA

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting professional to join a high-performing global Insurance Finance Control team. This role offers hands-on exposure to balance sheet and income statement reporting, quarterly close activities, and compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and Solvency II, while working closely with global and local stakeholders.

The position is ideal for Chartered Accountants who enjoy combining technical accounting expertise, regulatory compliance, and financial controls in a globally governed insurance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for accurate financial reporting of Balance Sheet and Income Statement on both Group and local statutory bases

- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements including Solvency II

- Maintain balance sheet and income statement accounts in statutory ledgers for assigned insurance entities

- Perform quarterly GL close and reconciliations for complex balance sheet and P&L areas

- Support timely and accurate completion of quarterly close processes across assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses

- Identify discrepancies, analyze trends, and provide insights to strengthen financial controls and reporting quality

- Collaborate with finance teams and stakeholders across geographies to support reporting requirements

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 9-14 years of relevant experience

- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS (or equivalent accounting standards)

- Exposure to Solvency II regulatory reporting preferred

- Experience in insurance finance, financial reporting, or balance sheet control

- High analytical skills with strong attention to detail

- Ability to identify trends, resolve issues, and communicate insights effectively

- Comfortable working in a global, matrixed reporting environment
