We are seeking an experienced and dynamic AVP Finance Controller to lead and strengthen the finance function of a fast-growing startup. The role will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, driving process excellence, and supporting strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in accounting standards, financial controls, ERP systems, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting:

- Lead end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.

- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.

- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Monitor financial transactions and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.

- Develop and maintain robust financial reporting frameworks and management dashboards.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

- Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports and provide actionable business insights.

- Support leadership with financial analysis for strategic planning and decision-making.

- Monitor key financial metrics, cash flows, and working capital performance.

Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

- Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

- Manage direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and corporate taxation.

- Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management frameworks.

Process Improvement & Automation:

- Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve operational efficiency.

- Drive finance transformation initiatives, automation projects, and ERP optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable financial processes.

- Leverage technology and analytics to enhance reporting accuracy and decision-making.

Team Management & Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.

- Establish performance goals and ensure continuous capability development.

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

- Partner with business leaders to align finance objectives with organizational goals.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Educational Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory.

Experience:

- 14-18 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting.

- Prior experience in startups, high-growth organizations, or technology-driven businesses is highly preferred.

- Experience in handling financial controllership, reporting, audits, compliance, and budgeting functions.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Ind AS, accounting standards, and financial reporting practices.

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and MIS reporting.

- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, taxation, and compliance requirements.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
