Assistant Vice President/Deputy Vice President - Business Legal - BFSI

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing legal team across regions.

- Develop and implement legal strategies to support business expansion and risk mitigation.

- Advise senior management and board on legal risks, regulatory changes, and compliance matters.

- Oversee legal due diligence for loan disbursement processes.

- Vet and approve loan documentation, property papers, and customer agreements.

- Ensure enforceability and legal soundness of all loan-related contracts.

- Ensure compliance with applicable laws including RBI guidelines, SARFAESI Act, RERA, and other financial regulations.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company in legal proceedings when required.

- Monitor changes in legislation and assess impact on business operations.

- Manage litigation portfolio including recovery suits, consumer cases, and arbitration.

- Coordinate with external legal counsel and represent the company in courts and tribunals.

- Drive resolution strategies for legal disputes and defaults.

- Establish SOPs, training programs, and performance metrics for legal staff.

- Foster a culture of compliance, integrity, and proactive legal risk management.
