AVP Controllership, Reporting & Tax

Function: Finance / Controllership / Reporting

Role: AVP Controllership, Reporting & Tax to lead and manage Controllership, R2R Operations, Statutory Reporting and Tax functions. The role will be responsible for driving strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, operational excellence and process transformation. The individual will work closely with senior business stakeholders and clients and will be expected to build trusted relationships while delivering measurable business outcomes. The role requires a strong combination of Finance Controllership, R2R Operations, Statutory Reporting and US reporting expertise, along with proven leadership of large-scale finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end Finance Controllership, R2R, Statutory Reporting and Tax operations.

- Own financial governance, controls, compliance and reporting processes.

- Drive Statutory Reporting, including Yellow Book / GAGAS-related reporting requirements.

- Ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance across financial reporting and controllership activities.

- Lead and manage a large finance operations organization of approximately 150200 FTEs.

- Drive process transformation, standardization, automation and continuous improvement across finance operations.

- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness.

- Lead strategic planning and change management initiatives.

- Partner with senior clients and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business partners and clients.

- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, governance mechanisms and service delivery standards.

- Manage risks, audit requirements and regulatory compliance across the function.

- Develop high-performing teams and build leadership capability within the organization.

- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, controls and overall business performance.

Mandatory Requirements:

- AVP-level / equivalent senior leadership experience in Finance, Controllership or Finance Operations.

- Strong experience in Finance Controllership.

- Strong R2R / Record-to-Report Operations experience.

- Proven experience in Statutory / Financial Reporting.

- Mandatory experience with Yellow Book / GAGAS reporting.

- Strong understanding of US finance/reporting and regulatory requirements.

- Proven experience managing large teams of approximately 150200 FTEs.

- Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder management experience.

- Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.

- Strong understanding of financial governance, controls and regulatory compliance.

- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-management skills.

- Willingness to work US shifts starting from 4:00 PM onwards.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience managing Controllership, R2R, Reporting and Tax within a large-scale Finance Operations environment.

- Exposure to US GAAP and other US financial reporting requirements.

- Experience working with global / US clients.

- Experience in a BPM, shared services, GBS/GCC or captive finance environment.

- Experience in automation, digitization and finance transformation.

- Professional qualification such as CA / CPA / CMA would be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a senior Finance/Controllership leader who has managed large-scale finance operations of 150200 FTEs, with deep expertise across R2R, Controllership and Statutory Reporting, including Yellow Book/GAGAS exposure. The candidate should combine strong technical finance knowledge with transformation leadership, client management and the ability to operate effectively in a US-facing environment.
