Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced Sustainability & Social Compliance Assistant Manager to oversee and strengthen social, environmental, health & safety, and sustainability practices across our supplier base. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in social compliance audits, CSR allowed, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance within apparel and home textile manufacturing environments.


This role is critical in ensuring suppliers comply with local laws, buyer codes of conduct, and international sustainability standards, while also driving long-term sustainability strategies aligned with the companys vision.


Key Responsibilities:


Social Compliance & Audits:


- Perform social, health & safety, and environmental system evaluations at new and existing suppliers.


- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, statutory requirements, and buyer codes of conduct.


- Conduct factory assessments covering:


- Working conditions


- Wages & benefits


- Working hours


- Health & safety


- Child labor, forced labor, and discrimination policies


- Support suppliers in audit preparation, corrective action plans (CAPs), and follow-ups.


- Coordinate and support buyer audits, third-party audits, and certifications.


Sustainability & Environmental Management:


- Develop, plan, and implement long-term sustainability initiatives aligned with company goals.


- Drive environmental compliance including waste management, water usage, energy efficiency, and chemical management.


- Support sustainability programs related to carbon footprint reduction, resource efficiency, and responsible sourcing.


- Monitor and report sustainability KPIs and performance metrics.


Health, Safety & CSR:


- Ensure robust Health & Safety (H&S) systems are implemented and maintained at supplier facilities.


- Oversee CSR initiatives and community development programs where applicable.


- Promote ethical business practices and worker well-being across the supply chain.


Training & Capacity Building:


- Train and educate internal teams and suppliers on:


- Social compliance standards


- Environmental and chemical compliance


- Sustainability best practices


- Build supplier capability for continuous improvement and long-term compliance.


- Keep teams updated on evolving compliance standards and sustainability trends.


Stakeholder & Buyer Management:


- Act as a key point of contact for buyers, auditors, and internal stakeholders on sustainability and compliance matters.


- Update buyers and affiliations on sustainability initiatives, progress, and compliance status.


- Ensure alignment with industry standards, brand requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
