
Job Description | Assistant Manager - Legal

Sector Preference: Experience in law firms and/or regulated financial services (NBFCs/fintech's) preferred
Role Overview:
We are seeking a legal professional with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience to support legal operations across our holding company and a portfolio of 8+ entities. This role demands a strong foundation in transactional work, corporate advisory, and commercial contracting, along with excellent communication and drafting skills.
Key traits include:
- Experience across private equity, venture capital, debt, and general corporate matters
- Proficiency in legal drafting, regulatory research, and compliance frameworks
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to manage deliverables independently
- Comfort in managing diverse legal needs across multiple businesses
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as finance, secretarial, strategy, etc.
- Ability to mentor juniors, manage multiple stakeholders, and support senior team members effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Transactional Support:
- Draft, review, and negotiate documents such as SHA, SSA, debenture deeds, investment and exit agreements
- Support execution of private equity, venture capital, and debt transactions across group entities
Corporate Advisory & Governance:
- Advise on applicable laws and regulations
- Assist with corporate structuring, governance matters, and regulatory filings
Contract Management:
- Draft and review commercial contracts including vendor, consultancy, technology, and marketing agreements
- Maintain and streamline contract templates and workflows across entities
Multi-Entity Legal Support:
- Handle legal matters across the HoldCo and 8+ portfolio companies, adapting to varied operating models
Cross-Functional Interaction:
- Collaborate with teams across business, finance, secretarial, strategy, HR, and branding
- Act as a key legal liaison on multi-stakeholder projects and workflows
Documentation & Process Oversight:
- Maintain organized, high-quality legal documentation with consistent formatting
- Support internal legal operations and process improvement initiatives
Team Coordination:
- Supervise, mentor and review work of interns or junior legal staff, as applicable
