Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager - Legal
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Legal will support and manage the organization's legal operations, including litigation handling, contract management, regulatory compliance, and coordination with external counsels. The role requires hands-on legal execution and close collaboration with internal business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and track litigation matters including consumer cases, IPR, property, recovery, and other civil/commercial disputes.
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal counsels for case filings, hearings, documentation, and follow-ups.
- Draft, review, and assist in negotiation of commercial contracts such as NDAs, vendor agreements, service contracts, MOUs, and lease deeds.
- Support compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including Customs laws and DRI-related investigations.
- Maintain litigation trackers, prepare MIS, and provide periodic updates to management.
- Provide legal support and basic advisory to internal stakeholders across functions such as Finance, Procurement, Operations, and HR.
- Assist in identifying legal risks and implementing mitigation measures.
Candidate Profile:
- LLB certification is mandatory.
- post-qualification legal experience in corporate legal teams or law firms.
- Practical exposure to litigation management and contract drafting/review.
- Working knowledge of commercial laws, consumer laws, IPR, property laws, and customs regulations.
- Good communication, drafting, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
