Asst. Manager - Assembly & Project Management (NPI)
Location: Bengaluru - Doddaballapura
Experience: 10+ Years
Education: BE/B.Tech or Management Background
About The Role:
- We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assembly & Program Manager with a strong background in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional programs, oversee assembly operations, and drive end-to-end NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives.
- This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to manage customer expectations while ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Program Management:
- Lead end-to-end program execution, from planning through delivery.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams: engineering, procurement, quality, production, and supply chain.
- Manage customer communication, project timelines, risks, deliverables, and milestones.
- Ensure alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
New Product Introduction (NPI):
- Lead NPI activities including prototype builds, process validations, and ramp-up readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define manufacturing requirements and ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
- Drive smooth transition from development to mass production with controlled processes and documentation.
Assembly & Line Management:
- Oversee daily assembly line operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Optimize workforce, equipment utilization, and performance metrics.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, defects, and cycle time.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, safety protocols, and process discipline.
Inventory & Materials Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure material availability to meet production plans.
- Work closely with supply chain teams to address material shortages or delays.
- Implement proactive strategies to prevent excess, aging, and obsolete inventory.
- Support cost control efforts and material flow improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in EMS or electronics manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in project and program management.
- Strong background in assembly operations and production line management.
- Solid understanding of inventory/materials management principles.
- Extensive experience handling NPI activities from prototype to mass production.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple programs simultaneously.
