Assistant General Manager - Quality - Switchgear/Control Panels/Electrical Distribution Systems

The Sr. Manager/AGM Quality will be responsible for driving the overall quality management system, ensuring compliance with IEC/IS standards, statutory requirements and customer specifications.

This role demands leadership in type testing, routine testing, process audits, supplier quality, and customer complaint resolution, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and zero-defect delivery

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the QA/QC team across incoming, in-process, and final inspection

2. Prepare and maintain quality plans, SOPs, work instructions, and checklists for manufacturing

3. Ensure execution of routine tests and overseeing type tests

4. Drive calibration management of testing instruments

5. Maintain statutory compliance related to electrical safety and panel manufacturing

6. Develop and monitor supplier quality systems, conduct supplier audits, vendor approvals, and material qualification

7. Address customer complaints, warranty claims, and field failures with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

8. Complete knowledge of NC management with 8D analysis

9. Coordinate cross-functionally with design, production, and procurement teams

10. Lead initiatives for process improvements, cost reduction and defect prevention

11. Prepare and maintain quality reports, inspection reports and audit documentation

12. Familiarity with IEC, IS, UL and other relevant electrical standards

Qualification & Experience:

1. BTech/BE/Diploma in Electrical with minimum 20+ years of work experience

2. Should have exposure in different electrical products like Switchgear, Control Panels and electrical distribution systems

3. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills

4. Excellent leadership and team management abilities

5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
