Role Overview:
As the AGM Product Costing, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring accurate and insightful cost analysis for our diverse product portfolio. Your day-to-day will involve meticulously analyzing production costs, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to drive cost optimization initiatives. You will be a key partner to senior management, providing critical data and recommendations that directly impact pricing strategies, profitability, and overall business performance. Your expertise will ensure we maintain a competitive edge in the market while maximizing shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems for all products, ensuring accuracy and consistency in cost data for informed decision-making.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) to identify and explain deviations from standard costs, enabling proactive corrective actions.
- Lead the monthly closing process related to inventory and cost of goods sold, providing timely and accurate financial reporting to management.
- Partner with the production and engineering teams to analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements, contributing to enhanced profitability.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the annual standard cost roll, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost information for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations related to costing and inventory valuation, safeguarding the company's financial integrity.
- Mentor and develop a team of cost accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in costing practices.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting principles and practices, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) is mandatory.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Minimum of 10-20 years of relevant experience in product costing within a manufacturing environment.
