Position Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Land Legal to oversee all legal aspects related to land acquisition, land due diligence, title verification, documentation, and statutory compliance for Solar and Wind Power Projects. The candidate will work closely with Land Acquisition, Project Development, Business Development, Engineering, and external legal consultants to ensure smooth execution of renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Land Due Diligence & Title Verification :

- Conduct legal due diligence of private, government, and revenue land for Solar and Wind projects.

- Verify land ownership, title chain, mutation records, revenue records, encumbrances, and litigation status.

- Identify legal risks associated with land acquisition and recommend mitigation measures.

- Coordinate with external advocates for legal opinions and title search reports.

Documentation & Agreements :

- Draft, vet, negotiate, and finalize :

1. Sale Deeds

2. Lease Deeds

3. Leave & License Agreements

4. Easement Agreements

5. Right of Way (ROW) Agreements

6. Power of Attorney (POA)

7. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

8. Indemnity Bonds

9. Affidavits and Declarations

- Ensure proper registration and stamping of all legal documents.

Land Acquisition Support :

- Provide legal support to the Land Acquisition team during land procurement.

- Coordinate with landowners, government authorities, registration offices, and legal consultants.

- Resolve legal issues arising during acquisition, leasing, or land transfers.

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance :

- Ensure compliance with applicable Central and State land laws.

- Liaise with Revenue Department, Registration Department, Forest Department, Local Authorities, and other statutory bodies.

- Support approvals related to land conversion, land use permissions, and right of way.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution :

- Handle land-related litigation before courts, tribunals, and government authorities.

- Coordinate with panel advocates for legal notices, court cases, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

- Maintain litigation records and monitor case progress.

Legal Advisory :

- Provide legal opinions on land transactions and project development.

- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance requirements.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and legal frameworks.

Documentation & MIS :

- Maintain digital and physical records of land documents.

- Prepare legal status reports, litigation trackers, and compliance MIS.

- Support internal and external audits related to land documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile :

Education :

- LL.B. (Mandatory)

- LL.M. will be an added advantage.

Experience :

- 8 - 15 years of experience in Land Legal for Renewable Energy, with experience in land legal work in States of Karnataka, Andhra, and Telangana.

- Strong exposure to Solar and Wind Power Projects will be preferred.

Technical Skills :

- Expertise in land title verification and legal due diligence.

- Sound knowledge of land laws, property laws, registration laws, and revenue matters.

- Experience in drafting and reviewing legal agreements.

- Knowledge of Right of Way (ROW), land acquisition processes, and statutory approvals.

- Familiarity with project documentation and renewable energy regulations.
