Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Finance & Accounts

Job Overview:

- We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Finance & Accounts to lead financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and audit functions for our Real Estate/Infrastructure business operations.

- The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing financial closures, statutory compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, and team leadership while ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- The candidate should possess strong expertise in accounting operations, consolidation, audit management, taxation, and financial analysis, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Book Closure:

- Lead and manage end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of books across entities.

- Review General Ledger (GL), cost centres, reconciliations, and accounting entries to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

- Prepare Trial Balance (TB) for book closure and ensure all accounting adjustments, including Ind-AS adjustments, are properly recorded in SAP/Tally.

- Pass closure and adjustment entries wherever necessary to ensure complete and accurate financial records.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal policies, and financial governance practices.

Financial Reporting & Consolidation:

- Prepare and finalize standalone and consolidated financial statements as per applicable accounting standards (Ind-AS/IFRS).

- Draft financial reports, schedules, analytical statements, and management presentations.

- Ensure timely submission of financial statements and reports to leadership and stakeholders.

- Support strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Audit & Internal Controls:

- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.

- Prepare detailed audit workpapers, schedules, and financial analyses covering expenses, revenues, assets, liabilities, and provisions.

- Ensure closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.

- Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with audit and governance requirements.

Taxation & Compliance:

- Ensure timely compliance with TDS, GST, and other statutory requirements.

- Oversee preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.

- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities for compliance-related matters.

- Monitor regulatory updates and implement necessary financial and compliance changes.

MIS Reporting & Financial Analysis:

- Oversee preparation of MIS reports, dashboards, variance analysis, and financial performance reports.

- Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to management for business planning and operational efficiency.

- Monitor budgets, project costs, and financial performance indicators.

Team Management & Cross-functional Coordination:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of finance professionals involved in accounting, reporting, and closure activities.

- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and best practices within the finance function.

- Collaborate with internal accounting teams and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth financial reporting and closure processes.

- Coordinate with other business functions to gather necessary information for audits, reporting, and compliance purposes.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience.

- Prior experience in Real Estate or Infrastructure industry is mandatory.

- Strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, audit, taxation, and compliance.

- Hands-on experience with SAP/Tally and advanced MS Excel.

- Strong understanding of Ind-AS/IFRS and statutory compliance requirements.

- Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams and stakeholder coordination.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
