Position Summary:

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an effective compliance framework across the organization's operations. The role ensures adherence to all applicable UAE laws, regulations, regulatory authority requirements, and internal policies. The incumbent will act as a key advisor to senior management and the Board on compliance and regulatory risk matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the company's compliance framework, policies, and procedures in line with UAE regulatory requirements and international best practices.

- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to corporate, financial, AML/CFT, sanctions, and governance-related requirements.

- Serve as the primary liaison with regulators and external authorities, managing regulatory communications, filings, and inspections.

- Advise senior management and the Board of Directors on compliance risks, regulatory developments, and mitigation strategies.

- Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.

- Oversee AML/CFT compliance, including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, reporting of suspicious activities, and staff awareness.

- Review and assess new business initiatives, products, and investments from a compliance and regulatory risk perspective.

- Design and deliver compliance training programs to promote a strong culture of compliance and ethics across the organization.

- Investigate potential compliance breaches, recommend remedial actions, and ensure timely reporting where required.

- Maintain accurate compliance records, reports, and documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.

- Coordinate with internal audit, legal, risk, and external advisors to ensure a cohesive governance and control environment.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; a Master's degree or professional certification in Compliance, Risk, or Governance is highly desirable.

- Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience within the legal and/or compliance domain, preferably within financial services, investment companies, or regulated entities in the UAE or GCC.

- Strong working knowledge of UAE laws and regulations, including AML/CFT frameworks and regulatory authority requirements.

- Proven experience interacting with regulators and senior stakeholders.

- Excellent analytical, drafting, and advisory skills with high attention to detail.

- Strong ethical standards, professional integrity, and sound judgment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.

Reporting Line:

- Reports directly to Senior Management and/or the Board of Directors (or Board Committee), as applicable.
