Description:
a) Purpose (Why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits):
- The primary function of the role is to provide leadership to the planning team and manage the planning & cost control of the assigned capital projects for the development of Offshore & Onshore oil & gas fields.
- The position reports to COO and has the central responsibility is towards meeting the overall company objective of successfully monetising its oil & gas field and planning & monitoring all AWELs activities from drilling & completion of wells, engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, hook-up and commissioning of surface facilities like offshore platforms, subsea pipelines etc.
- It is not limited only to the planning function but encompasses integration of all aspects of the project management including engineering, procurement, projects, construction, commissioning, drilling, HSE, logistics, Finance, QA/QC, , senior management reporting, etc.
- To manage and supervise AWEL document control system.
- This position is expected to exercise a high level of interaction within organisation and external parties (consultants, contractors, vendors etc) to understand complex planning & cost control issues. Liaisons are expected to by with Management within AWEL, various groups within AWEL organisation.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Prepare, review and update integrated project planning encompassing all activities from approvals, drilling, completion, development of surface facilities (platforms, pipelines etc), installation and commissioning
- Developing project master schedule, updating, monitoring and reviewing contractor construction schedules, submittals, material delivery, procurement logs and daily follow-up in addition to the necessary productivity measurement studies and associated corrective measures.
- Addressing all planning & cost control requirements on assigned projects.
- Addressing all progress monitoring functions on assigned projects
- Contribute to the improvement of existing planning and progress monitoring systems
- Ensure project controls are established and maintained on all projects
- Review of contractor programmes in accordance with the contract
- Provide assessment of Extension of Time claims
- Contribute to the programme sections of AWELs Monthly Reports
- Ensure all key issues are communicated effectively to Project managers
- Compile and maintain records of construction productivity data
- Provide contract administration support when required.
- Assist with the review Interim Payment Certificates
- Provide support for the establishment of project resource schedules
- Manage and supervise AWELs document control system
- Participating in contract administration & management.
- Work closely with senior management to develop strategic plans for growth
- Work closely with senior management to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of operations
Knowledge & Skills:
- Hands on experience in the planning software including MS Projects, Primavera, etc.
- Good overall technical knowledge of the upstream oil & gas industry for Offshore & Onshore area.
- Highly experienced in the planning & control activities of facilities for oil & gas upstream for Offshore & Onshore projects.
- Good leadership skills and ability to integrate various functions activities
- Self-starter with high intellect and strategic thinking ability
- Excellent inter-personal & communication skills suitable for the corporate level and governmental liaisons, and a good ability to
work with all groups in the organization.
- Exposure to international methodologies involving pre-development assessment of oil & gas fields.
- Thorough knowledge of prevalent national & international development methods for offshore & onshore fields.
- Thorough understanding of national & international HSES system.
- Proven leadership skills and good relationship abilities
- Team player, self-reliance, Presentation skills
- Ability to work in multi-national environment
Education and Relevant Experience:
- Qualifications: Bachelors / Masters degree in any engineering.
- Minimum of 3+ years of planning & control experience of which at least 7 years in the role of Planning in large Engineering
Consulting/ Oil & Gas companies.
- Business understanding: Oil & Gas fields development, project management, Statutory / environmental regulations requirements,
national & international planning practices, etc.
- Knowledge: Field development, project engineering, drilling & completion, project execution, construction, offshore fabrication,
installations, tendering practices, etc
- Skills: Understand project costing, interpersonal skills, communication skills, reporting & presentation skills, etc
Business Understanding:
Sound understanding of business processes and the impact of Quality Management in a business. Good understanding of the
international oil & gas E&P business
