We have an opportunity in ACG Engineering for a Lead Boughtout Procurement.

Job Objective :

Responsible for cross functional project management to qualify new components, supporting issues with current production, developing new vendors to reduce cost, increase capacity and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.

Primary responsibilities :

Strategic and planning :

- Support Procurement Head in preparing the material strategy in alignment with the ACGE Operations Strategy.

- Looks to optimize within the budget allocated for the activity line through negotiations and new sources of material suppliers.

Functional :

Core :

- Estimating the price at the component level - 'right price for the right component'.

- Maintain Methods Engineering departmental activities including upload info records / material master in SAP.

- Make or Buy decision.

- Alternate development for single source items.

- Proving first time development for critical component.

- Cost reduction thru value engineering / process rationalization.

- Interacting with BU design and purchase team to complete projects on time.

- Closing of price increase of parts as and when received from the supplier.

Purchase Management :

- Ensures availability of material/subcontract parts/sub-assembly parts with the activity line.

- Forwards request for high value/volume items to the level above.

Vendor/supplier Management :

- Floats quotations for technical and commercial viability for different items and evaluates, negotiates vendors based on the protocols set.

- Ensuring vendors to get self-certified along with QA for getting first time right components.

- Ensuring upgradation of quality level of vendors.

- Vendor rationalization in order to ensure reducing the vendor base.

Improvements :

- Monitors purchase expenditure for the activity line and shares inputs with the level above on improving both, quality and cost (e.g. provides inputs on improving inventory management).

- Looks for new sources of material in both international and local markets and shares any leads with the level above.

Internal process :

- Co-ordinates with the Quality for audit of the incoming parts; Collates feedback on vendors through factory personnel and provides inputs to the seniors.

- Maintains and updates database of all the statutory documentation from the vendors / suppliers.

People development :

- Training needs to be identified & followed up for the development of colleague.

- Train the team for Project Management approach & follow the same.

- Developing vendors in a cost optimized manner.

Educational and Experience Requirements :

Minimum Requirement : Graduate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Desired : Additional / Master Qualification in Project Management.

Experience : 8 - 10 years.
