Company Overview :

We are hiring for a leading Indian power & infrastructure company with a diversified and growing portfolio of thermal and renewable assets. The organization is a reputed listed platform with strong corporate governance, backed by institutional investors, and actively expanding its asset base across India.

Role Overview :

This is a high-impact leadership role based at one of the company's key thermal power plants. The Accounts Head will manage the complete plant-level finance and accounting function, ensure regulatory and audit compliance, support commercial operations, and coordinate with corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Finalization of quarterly/annual standalone financials in compliance with IND AS & SEBI

- Ensure timely closure of books - monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts

- Manage audits (statutory, tax, internal, cost) and ensure corrective actions

- Monitor O&M and Capex budgets, perform cost variance analysis

- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Electricity Duty, and filing of returns

- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, billing, reconciliations, and tariff calculations

- Coordinate with corporate finance for funding, insurance, and MIS submissions

- Participate in high-value procurement negotiations and power sales decisions (e.g., IEX)

- Liaise with government officials on legacy indirect tax issues (VAT, Service Tax, etc.)

- Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to company policies and DOP

Desired Candidate Profile:

- CA with 16 to 18+ years of post-qualification experience

- Must have plant-level finance and accounts experience, preferably in power, EPC, or industrial manufacturing

- Strong knowledge of IND AS, SEBI reporting, statutory audits, and tax compliance

- Hands-on with budgeting, cost control, MIS, and reconciliations

- Prior experience in decision-making around power sales, vendor negotiations, and internal controls

- Strong team leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
