Role Purpose

Own the plants financial controllership end-to-endbooks, compliance, costing, and cash with a sharp focus on timely closes, clean audits, cost discipline, and working-capital efficiency. Act as the finance partner to the Plant Head for throughput, yield, and margin improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1) Controllership & Closings

- Lead month/quarter/year-end closures: GL, sub-ledgers, provisions, accruals, reconciliations.

- Ensure accurate inventory valuation (RM, WIP, FG), overhead absorption, and standard costing updates.

- Drive ICFR/IFC controls, ledger hygiene, and policy adherence (capitalization, impairments, leases, provisions).

2) Costing & Profitability

- Own standard cost setup (BOMs, routings, cycle times), variance analysis (PPV, labour/overhead, yield, scrap).

- Partner with operations on cost reduction (OEE, energy, consumables, rework) and product contribution margin.

- Publish SKU/line-wise cost-to-serve and drive price/mix actions with commercial teams.

3) Working Capital & Treasury (Plant)

- Govern AP/AR cycles, credit terms, dispute resolution, and DPO/DSO targets.

- Monitor inventory turns, slow/non-moving stock action plans, and cycle count/physical verification.

- Manage banking operations (payments, LC/BG where applicable) and daily cash/forecast at plant level.

4) Compliance, Tax & Audits

- Ensure GST/TDS filings, reconciliations (GSTR-2B/3B vs books), and e-invoicing compliance.

- Coordinate statutory, tax, and internal audits; close observations and Implement corrective actions.

- Maintain registers, documentation, and compliance calendar; liaise with authorities/consultants as needed.

5) MIS, Planning & Governance

- Deliver timely MIS: P&L, BS, cash flow, plant KPI deck (throughput, yields, scrap, OEE, OTIF).

- Anchor AOP/budget, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis with root-cause and action plans.

- Run weekly S&OP/finance reviews; track risks, capex, and project ROI.

6) ERP, Process & Data Integrity

- Own ERP discipline (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics/Tally Prime): master data, routes, cost rollups, GR/IR, MRN, gate entries.

- Drive SOPs for MIGO/MIRO, RTV, subcontracting, job work, and inter-plant transfers.

- Implement process automation and BI dashboards (Excel/Sheets, Power BI/Looker).

7) Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Build a high-performance finance team; define KRAs, conduct reviews, and mentor successors.

- Partner with Plant Head, QA, SCM, Production, HR, and Corporate Finance for cross-functional delivery.

- Promote a culture of ethics, control, and continuous improvement.

Must-Have Skills & Knowledge

- Manufacturing plant controllership with strong command of costing & inventory processes.

- Expert in GST/TDS/Companies Act compliance, audit management, and ICFR/IFC.

- Hands-on with ERP (SAP/Oracle/MSD/Tally Prime) and advanced Excel/Sheets; BI exposure preferred.

- Strong analytical storytelling: convert data to clear actions for operations and leadership.

- Excellent people leadership, vendor/customer negotiation, and stakeholder management.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to export/import, LC/BG, and bonded warehouse/EOU norms (if applicable).

- Knowledge of Ind AS, product costing for multi-plant setups, and transfer pricing basics.

- Power user of Power BI/Tableau, automation (VBA/Power Query), or RPA tools.
