Description: About the Role: We are looking for a Product Manager / Product Owner to lead our Reference Data Product, which powers accurate, normalized data extraction across credit agreements, amendments, side letters, and borrower communications. This role blends domain expertise in private credit / GP-side operations with strong product ownership, taxonomy design, and HITL + agentic automation. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of how reference data is defined, captured, validated, and delivered to our clients. The ideal candidate is structured, detail-oriented, fluent in both business and technical conversations, and passionate about building workflows that scale. Key Responsibilities: Business Analysis & Client/Domain Understanding: - Intake and analyze new Reference Data (REF Data) requests from clients. - Map client intent into our structured taxonomy-driven data model. - Create clear documentation including BRDs, FRDs, data dictionaries, and mapping specifications. - Define and execute UAT cycles scope, test cases, pass/fail criteria, stakeholder sign-off. Product Ownership (Backlog & Delivery): - Own and manage the REF Data product backlog with transparent prioritization and effort estimates. - Write high-quality user stories with acceptance criteria and ensure readiness for development. - Lead sprint planning, work closely with engineering, and manage delivery through release. - Track releases, ensure smooth rollout, and close feedback loops with stakeholders. SME & Quality Leadership (Taxonomy, Accuracy, Workflows): - Own and evolve the Reference Data taxonomy for consistency, coverage, and scalability. - Collaborate with QA to define accuracy, coverage, and TAT dashboards and quality checklists. - Identify where Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) adds most value and design interventions. - Drive continuous improvements in data reliability, normalization standards, and workflow repeatability. - Ensure all workflows are repeatable, scalable, and aligned with multi-client delivery. Required Skills & Experience: - 5-10 years of experience as Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst, ideally in: - Private Credit / GP operations. - Reference data, document parsing, or data normalization workflows. - Taxonomy design or structured data products. - Strong expertise in writing BRD/FRD, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test plans. - Experience with UAT, backlog management, and agile delivery practices. - Ability to work with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, domain, client). - Detail-oriented, structured thinker with strong analytical and documentation skills. - Exposure to HITL systems, automation, LLM-based workflows, or agentic processes is a plus. Preferred: - Prior experience working with credit agreements, amendments, or loan notices. - Experience designing or evolving taxonomies or structured reference data models. - Understanding of data validation, data quality frameworks, or QA collaboration. Job Overview: - We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our team as a Senior Data & Legal Analyst. - This role is ideal for professionals who thrive at the intersection of law, finance, and technology. - You will play a pivotal role in extracting, analysing, interpreting, and structuring legal and financial data from complex private credit agreement and related documentation. - As a senior member of the team, you will lead the initiatives that enhance data accuracy, streamline documentation workflows, and support the development of scalable technology solutions for the private credit lifecycle. - Your expertise will directly impact investment decision-making, operational efficiency, and platform innovation. Responsibilities: Private Credit Agreement Expertise: - Analyse and interpret complex private credit agreements, including bespoke structures, amendments and intercreditor arrangements. Extract and validate key legal and commercial terms such as:. - Facility structure and hierarchy. - Pricing and margin mechanics. - Financial covenants and compliance thresholds. - Security package and collateral details. - Waterfall and payment priorities. - Jurisdictional considerations and governing law. Oversight & Quality Assurance: - Review and validate data extracted by junior analysts to ensure completeness and accuracy. - Provide legal interpretation and guidance on key clauses such as covenants, events of default, loopholes, representations & warranties, Payment-in-Kind etc. -Track and analyse covenants, interest schedules, amortization, prepayment terms and other credit metrics. - Conduct analytical reviews to identify risk flags, anomalies or operational inefficiencies. - Stay current on legal developments and market trends affecting credit documentation. Stakeholder Engagement: - Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams including Legal, Product Development, and Operations. - Deliver clear, actionable summaries, and insights from complex documentation to support strategic decisions. Process Optimization & Automation: - Identify and implement opportunities to streamline data extraction and documentation workflows. - Support the creation and expansion of legal data taxonomies and standardized templates. - Collaborate with technology teams to enhance document parsing tools and build scalable solutions. Mentorship & Leadership: - Train and mentor junior team members on documentation standards and legal interpretation, and data extraction techniques. - Lead documentation reviews for high-value or high-risk transactions. This is a leadership role requiring strong expertise in the credit analysis and a proven ability to manage and mentor teams. Key Responsibilities: - Take ultimate responsibility for the quality and accuracy of credit data delivered to clients. - Collaborate with the tech, product, and data science teams to iteratively improve AI models, turnaround times, and accuracy levels of the Credit Research team. - Develop a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in creating new taxonomies and processing new types of credit-related documents. - Hire, train, and manage credit analysts to support operational goals and uphold the highest standards of quality.
