Battery Smart is India’s largest and fastest growing battery swapping network for electric vehicles.
It provides lightweight, interoperable Li-ion batteries-as-a-service, which can be swapped for a fully charged
battery in less than 2 minutes at any Battery Smart swapping station. This frees EV-users from large and
recurring capex on batteries, from charging downtime, and from range anxiety.

Battery Smart launched operations in June 2020 and today operates 200+ swapping stations across 10
cities. Currently 4,000+ electric vehicles run on the Battery Smart network, completing 12,500+ battery
swaps every day – more swaps each day than all other players combined. Over the last 9 months, revenues
and monthly-swaps have grown more than 15x, driven by strong expansion in swapping stations and
vehicles.

Over the next 3 years, Battery Smart aims to be present across 100 cities, with 10,000 stations, and 500,000
vehicles. Our mission is to unlock and accelerate India’s transition to mass electric mobility – and as we go
after this $17B market (by 2025), we’re also building an organic network of prosperity and upward mobility
for thousands of drivers and small businesses that partner with us.


Strong Investor-support:

Raised a Pre-Series A round of $7 million in Oct 2021. The funding round was led by Blume Ventures and
Orios Ventures, along with investments from Green Frontier Capital, Baring Private Equity India, and
notable angels like Srinivas Anumolu (Founder - Elance, TutorVista, Bigbasket, Bluestone), K Ganesh (Serial
Entrepreneur & Partner - GrowthStory.in), Niraj Singh (Founder & CEO - Spinny), and Amit Bhasin (Co-Founder - GoMechanic). TradeCred, India’s leading alternative debt platform, also participated as a debt
partner with an INR 24 crore investment.

Founding Team:

Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka are batch mates from IIT Kanpur (2008-12/13) and earlier started Pods
(intra-city bus transit app) together in 2015.
Pulkit was working with Shuttl as Head of Supply for 4 years. Prior to that Pulkit worked as a Sr.
Management Consultant with Opera Solutions.

Siddharth was Founding Director of ABM (Association of Billion Minds) and has worked on e-mobility policy
projects with Niti Aayog and Chief Minister’s Office of Uttar Pradesh. He also has experience working with
Urban Company and Schlumberger.
