Job Title: Product Owner
Location: Pune, India
Work Mode: Work From Office (WFO), 5 days a week
Job Summary:
- The Product Owner plays a critical role in driving product development and delivery within Agile teams.
- This position is responsible for translating business strategy and customer needs into actionable product requirements, managing the product backlog, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- As the primary liaison between business units and development teams, the Product Owner ensures the right product is built at the right time to deliver maximum value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate product vision and strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Own and manage the product backlog across multiple Agile teams, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and alignment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and synthesize customer insights, market trends, and business needs.
- Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Draft technical documentation, including internal and customer-facing API docs.
- Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Monitor product performance and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and other teams to ensure successful product delivery.
- Make data-driven decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product ownership or related roles.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven leadership experience in cross-functional Agile team environments.
- Technical fluency and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and backlog management.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Agile platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and advocate for customer needs through direct engagement and data analysis.
Mandatory Technical Skills (role-based, any of the following):
- SQL & Snowflake (Intermediate competency)
- Postman, JSON, XML, XSLT (Intermediate competency)
- API documentation experience
- Strong understanding of data integration workflows
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Working knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau
- Familiarity with insurance industry trends and customer needs
Domain: Prior experience in the Insurance domain is strongly preferred
