Zone Head - Collections - Banking/NBFC

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Zone Head Collections to lead large-scale collections and recovery operations across the North region. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in unsecured loan collections, agency management, portfolio recovery, and leading high-performing collections teams within the NBFC, FinTech, or Banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end collections and recovery operations for the North Zone.

- Manage a large portfolio of unsecured retail loans, ensuring timely recoveries across all delinquency buckets.

- Drive recovery strategies for high-volume portfolios, including 180+ DPD and write-off accounts.

- Manage and monitor external collection agencies, ensuring SLA adherence and performance optimization.

- Handle a portfolio exceeding 4,000 delinquent accounts while maximizing recovery rates.

- Develop region-specific collection strategies to reduce delinquency and improve portfolio quality.

- Monitor agency productivity, legal recoveries, and field collection performance.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical collection practices.

- Track collection KPIs, analyze portfolio trends, and present performance reports to senior leadership.

- Collaborate with Risk, Operations, Legal, and Business teams to improve collection efficiency.

- Recruit, mentor, and lead regional collection managers and agency partners.

Required Skills:

- 15-20 years of experience in Collections and Recovery.

- Strong experience in unsecured retail loan collections (Personal Loans, Consumer Loans, Digital Lending, FinTech, etc.).

- Proven experience managing large agency networks and field collection operations.

- Expertise in recovery across 180+ DPD, write-off, and hard bucket portfolios.

- Experience handling high-volume delinquent portfolios (4,000+ accounts).

- Strong understanding of collection strategies, legal recovery processes, and portfolio analytics.

- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

- Experience working in Banks, NBFCs, or FinTech organizations.

Preferred Experience:

- Exposure to digital collections platforms and analytics-driven recovery models.

- Experience managing collections across multiple states in North India.

- Knowledge of RBI guidelines and regulatory compliance for collections.
