Our client is a leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company with a strong presence across India. They manufacture and market a wide range of food and personal care products, reaching millions of households through an extensive distribution network. The company operates in various segments within the FMCG sector, including packaged foods, personal care, and household products.

Role Overview:

The Zonal Sales Manager - East will lead and manage the sales operations for the Eastern region, based in Kolkata. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, expanding market share, and strengthening the distribution network. The Zonal Sales Manager will lead a team of Area Sales Managers and Sales Officers, working closely with distributors, retailers, and internal stakeholders to drive sales growth and ensure effective market coverage. This role is critical in ensuring the company's products are readily available and effectively promoted across the Eastern region, contributing directly to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans for the East Zone to achieve sales targets and increase market share.

- Manage and mentor a team of Area Sales Managers and Sales Officers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

- Expand and strengthen the distribution network by identifying and onboarding new distributors and retailers.

- Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and retailers to ensure effective product placement and promotion.

- Plan and execute promotional activities and trade marketing initiatives to drive sales and brand awareness.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including pricing, credit, and inventory management.

- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.

- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.

- Manage the sales budget for the East Zone, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies in the FMCG sector.

- Proven expertise in channel management, distribution, and general trade sales.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- In-depth knowledge of the FMCG market in the East Zone.

- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges.

- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- MBA from Premier B School in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

- 8-12 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales, with a focus on channel management and distribution.
