Zonal Sales Manager - FMCG
Role Overview :
The impact of this role is significant, directly contributing to our market share growth, revenue targets, and the overall success of our international business footprint, ensuring our products reach and delight consumers across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement comprehensive zonal sales strategies to achieve ambitious revenue, volume, and market share objectives for the Nigerian market, ensuring alignment with global business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous professional development to maximize their potential.
- Cultivate and strengthen strategic partnerships with key distributors and Modern Trade accounts, optimizing product availability, visibility, and promotional execution to drive sales velocity.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify new growth opportunities, anticipate challenges, and adapt sales tactics effectively.
- Manage the zonal sales budget efficiently, overseeing forecasting, expense control, and resource allocation to ensure optimal return on investment.
- Drive successful new product launches and promotional campaigns across all sales channels, ensuring effective communication and execution at the ground level.
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing actionable insights and corrective measures to senior management to maintain growth trajectory.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability in strategic sales planning and execution within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of 8-10 years in driving significant growth in challenging markets.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, adept at inspiring and developing sales professionals to exceed targets.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, particularly with large distributors and Modern Trade retailers in an international context.
- Proficient in market analysis, sales forecasting, and P&L management, with a keen understanding of commercial drivers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is essential; an MBA from a premier institution is highly preferred.
- Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced international work environment, with a strong commitment to on-site leadership in Nigeria.
