Role Overview:

The Head of Business will have complete ownership of business performance for the state/region, with responsibility for growth, profitability, portfolio quality, and risk governance. This role demands a leader who can scale a secured lending business in competitive markets while maintaining tight control on asset quality, underwriting discipline, and collections effectiveness.

The role requires deep market understanding, strong people leadership, and the ability to balance growth velocity with portfolio stability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business & P&L Ownership

- Own and deliver the end-to-end P&L, including growth, margins, costs, and profitability.

- Translate organizational strategy into business plans, budgets, and execution roadmaps.

- Drive sustainable expansion across districts while ensuring prudent risk-adjusted returns.

2. Portfolio Growth with Quality Focus

- Drive customer acquisition and portfolio expansion through structured sourcing and relationship-led distribution.

- Ensure disciplined growth by embedding strong underwriting hygiene and deal selection standards.

- Monitor portfolio mix, ticket sizing, LTV discipline, and vintage behavior to avoid risk concentration.

- Build mechanisms for early stress identification and proactive intervention.

3. Asset Quality, Risk & NPA Management

- Maintain strict control over delinquencies, GNPA/NNPA levels, and roll-forward trends.

- Work closely with Credit, Risk, and Collections teams

- Ensure effective use of legal, valuation, and collateral management frameworks.

- Lead portfolio review forums and ensure timely corrective actions.

4. Distribution & Market Development

- Build and manage a high-quality sourcing ecosystem

- Ensure sourcing is aligned to risk appetite, not just volume targets.

- Develop deep understanding of local market behavior, borrower profiles, and competitive practices across Rajasthan.

5. Leadership & Team Building

- Build, mentor, and retain a strong leadership bench across sales, credit coordination, and portfolio management.

- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and ethical business practices.

- Set clear KPIs and review mechanisms across teams, linking performance with both growth and quality metrics.

6. Operations, Governance & Compliance

- Ensure seamless execution across the loan lifecycle sourcing, credit, disbursement, servicing, and closure.

- Enforce adherence to internal policies, RBI guidelines, audit standards, and governance frameworks.

- Strengthen operational controls to minimize leakages, exceptions, and documentation gaps.

- Champion digitization, MIS discipline, and data-driven decision making.

7. MIS, Reviews & Stakeholder Reporting

- Present structured MIS, dashboards, and portfolio insights to senior management.

- Track and act on key indicators such as Branch and channel performance, Collection efficiency and recovery outcomes

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in NBFCs / Banks / Financial Institutions.

- Proven experience in state or regional leadership roles with P&L accountability.

- Strong exposure to secured lending portfolios, credit evaluation, collections, and legal recovery processes.

- MBA / PGDM (Finance) / CA preferred
