Your Role The Private Brand Head of Staples is a key leadership role within the retail organization. This role involves strategizing, developing, and managing the Private Brand product portfolio in the staples category. Key Responsibilities: Product Portfolio Management: - Develop and execute a comprehensive Private Brand product strategy for the staples category. - Identify market trends and consumer preferences to guide product selection and development. - Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond. Supplier Relationships: - Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors. - Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to ensure cost-effective product sourcing. - Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards. Financial Management: - Create and manage budgets for the Private Brand staples category. - Monitor financial performance, analyze sales data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability. Marketing and Promotion: - Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional strategies for Private Brand staples. - Develop marketing campaigns to highlight the value and quality of Private Brand products. Quality Assurance: - Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that Private Brand staples meet or exceed quality standards. - Address any product quality or safety concerns promptly. Competitive Analysis: - Stay informed about market trends and competitors' products. - Identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation within the Private Brand staples category. Team Leadership: - Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for product development, sourcing, and marketing. - Provide coaching and mentorship to team members. What are we looking for? - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree in Agriculture / MBA in Agribusiness preferred). - 7+ years of proven experience in Sourcing Agri commodities and managing Private Brand portfolio , preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry. - Strong knowledge of the Indian retail market and consumer preferences. - Exceptional leadership and team management skills. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. - Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
