ABOUT ZEBPAY

ZebPay is India's oldest and most-loved Bitcoin and crypto-asset company. Since 2014 we have helped two-thirds of India's crypto owners buy their first Bitcoin. Our mission is to help millions of people in India and around the world join the Bitcoin revolution through best-in-class technology and user experiences.

We build in one of the most demanding product environments there is: real money, 24x7 markets, volatile user sentiment, a live regulatory perimeter, and customers who notice every second of latency and every rupee of difference. Product decisions here have consequences you can see the same day.

YOUR CAREER AT ZEBPAY

A career at ZebPay is about being part of our Ohana (Hawaiian for family) and working on some of the most challenging - and most interesting - problems in Indian consumer fintech. You will join a small, senior, opinionated product team where the quality of your thinking matters more than your title, and where you will be given real ownership early.

THE ROLE

A Product Manager at ZebPay can be considered a mini-CEO. You will own a segment of the larger product- its strategy, its roadmap, its trade-offs and its numbers - and you will be held to the outcomes rather than the output.

This is a technically-inclined product role, and we are looking for a technologically sound person - someone who keeps up with how mobile, web and backend technology is evolving, and who understands how our own system actually works. You will not be asked to write production code, but you will be expected to get to your own data and reason directly with engineers rather than relaying messages between them and the business.

You will own one of the following areas end to end, based on your strengths and ZebPay requirements:

- Pro Trading features - Exchange & Futures - order types, order book and pro-trading experiences, futures and perpetuals, margin mechanics, and the risk, margin-call and liquidation journeys where clarity is the difference between an informed user and a furious one.

- Core investment features & Portfolio - Quick Trade, SIP, Cryptopacks and the portfolio experience, and the trade-offs between simplicity for first-time investors and depth for high-value users.

- Growth, onboarding & KYC, Payments & Wallets - signup and KYC/AML journeys, activation, retention and referrals, INR deposit and withdrawal rails, and tax and compliance reporting surfaces, where every point of conversion is won inside a hard compliance boundary.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Strategy and roadmap

- A written, defensible strategy for your area, and a prioritised roadmap you can justify to the leadership team on the value it creates for customers and for the business - not on the volume of features it contains.

- The hard calls: what you are deliberately not doing this quarter, and why.

Market intelligence and problem selection

- Own the competitive and market view for your area - what Indian and global exchanges are shipping, where they are ahead of us, where they are wrong, and what is noise. You are the person leadership asks, with evidence behind the answer.

- Find the feature bets nobody else has made. Parity work is table stakes; the value you add is spotting what this category has not built but our users demonstrably need - sized, with a number, not a competitor screenshot.

- Mine the signal we already own - store reviews, support tickets, social and community channels, behavioural data - turned into quantified problems rather than anecdotes.

- Go to users when the data cannot explain the behaviour. Users rarely articulate what they want; work out what they need.

- Kill your own bad ideas early, before engineering time is spent on them.

Specification and delivery

- Write PRDs and user stories precise enough to remove ambiguity for engineering, design and QA - edge cases, failure and recovery states, and error messaging included.

- Own delivery with engineering and QA: the launch date, the rollout and the rollback.

- Own your area's third-party dependencies - payment rails, KYC vendors, market-data providers -including what a partner genuinely cannot do, and the plan for the day they go down.

Measurement and experimentation

- Instrument before you ship. Set success and guardrail metrics up front, run clean A/B tests where volume allows, and know the difference between a metric moving and a metric mattering.

- Get to your own numbers rather than raising a request and waiting.

Cross-functional leadership

- Operate across design, customer service, engineering, legal, compliance, operations, finance and marketing - with influence rather than authority.

- Treat regulatory constraints as design inputs, not obstacles. The best work in this category makes a heavily constrained journey feel effortless.

REQUIREMENTS

- 4-6 years in product management, including at least two years owning a product area end to end - strategy through launch and measurement - rather than executing a roadmap set by others.

- Experience in a fast-paced, high-frequency B2C product at scale. Fintech, trading or broking, payments, or exchange backgrounds are strongly preferred.

- A working understanding of crypto markets and products. Direct crypto or VDA product experience is a significant advantage. Either way, you cannot do this job at ZebPay without real fluency in the category - how markets, assets, custody and volatility behave, and how our users think about them - and we will expect you to demonstrate it at interview.

- Demonstrated data independence. You have extracted the data and built the reporting the business needed yourself, rather than raising a request and waiting on an analyst - and you can reconstruct how any number you present was arrived at when challenged on it.

- Evidence of differentiated product thinking - at least one feature or bet you identified from market and competitive analysis rather than from a stakeholder request, took to launch, and can talk about honestly including what it cost and whether it worked.

- Hands-on experience owning third-party and partner integrations - payment or settlement rails, KYC and verification vendors, liquidity or market-data providers. You have scoped one, pushed back on what a partner claimed was possible, and handled it when the integration broke in production.

- A track record of shipping in a regulated or high-consequence environment, where a mistake costs money, trust or a licence - and comfort working closely with compliance and legal.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication. Most of your influence at ZebPay will travel as writing; we will assess this directly.

- Technically sound, and current. A working understanding of how modern mobile, web and backend technology works and where it is heading, and enough fluency to hold your own with senior engineers on APIs, latency, idempotency, reconciliation, order matching and third-party integrations.

- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving, with the detail-orientation this category demands. In money movement, near-enough is wrong.

- Strong stakeholder management and consultative skills, including the ability to disagree well with senior people and to say no with reasons.

- A graduate degree in any discipline. An engineering, computer science or quantitative background is preferred; candidates from other backgrounds with demonstrable technical fluency are equally welcome.

AI FLUENCY - A HARD REQUIREMENT

This is not a bonus point. It is how our product team works, and we screen for it.

- A default part of your daily workflow - drafting and pressure-testing PRDs, synthesising research and support tickets, competitive teardowns, and your own data pulls and prototypes rather than queuing for bandwidth.

- Used to widen your thinking - counter-arguments to your own proposal, edge cases you missed, assumptions stress-tested before engineering time is committed.

- Always verified. You know where AI output is unreliable and check it against the source. Confidently wrong is worse than slow.

- Shared. You pass the workflows and tooling that work to the wider product, design and engineering teams.

TOOLS

Equivalents are fine - we do not screen on specific tools. What matters is that you operate these yourself rather than relying on someone else to.

- Product analytics - event instrumentation, funnels, cohorts, retention and session replay. We use PostHog; equivalent depth in Mixpanel, Amplitude, CleverTap or GA4 transfers directly.

- Querying and reporting - you can get to your own numbers and build your own view of them, whether through SQL, a BI tool or the analytics layer, and you know when a number is not trustworthy.

- Experimentation and feature flags - running staged rollouts and A/B tests, and reading a result without over- claiming it.

- Documentation and delivery tracking - we use Confluence and Asana; which tools you have used before does not matter, as they take a week to learn. What we require is the craft: turning a complex requirement into a PRD a reader understands the first time, in plain language, with every section complete - problem, scope and non-scope, user stories, edge and failure cases, dependencies, metrics and rollout.

- Design collaboration - working fluently in Figma with designers, and prototyping your own early concepts.

- AI tooling - as set out above; this is the one area where we expect you to be ahead of the market, not level with it.
