Job Summary

The FP&A role supports financial planning, business performance analysis, and decision-making for an FMCG organization. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, and Leadership teams to drive profitable growth, optimize trade spend, and ensure strong financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Budgeting

- Lead and coordinate annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks.

- Develop volume, revenue, and margin forecasts with Sales & Marketing teams.

- Create P&L projections including trade spend, A&P investments, COGS, and overheads.

- Support long-range strategic planning and scenario modelling.

2. Business Performance Analysis

- Prepare monthly management reporting pack, including variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast).

- Analyze key FMCG metrics:

o Sell-in vs Sell-out, distribution, channel mix

o Gross-to-Net (GTN) and trade promotions

o SKU profitability, product lifecycle

o Market share and pricing performance

- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.

3. Commercial Support

- Partner with Sales to evaluate trade promotions and discount structures.

- Support Marketing with ROI assessments for campaigns and innovations.

- Conduct pricing & margin analysis for new product launches and product changes.

- Provide financial insights for route-to-market decisions, demand planning, and category growth.

4. Cost & Margin Analysis

- Monitor COGS, supply chain costs, and manufacturing variances.

- Work with Operations/Supply Chain on productivity initiatives and cost savings.

- Improve SKU-level margin analytics and product portfolio optimization.

5. Financial Modelling & Tools

- Build and maintain financial models (P&L, cash flow, scenario analysis).

- Improve forecasting accuracy through data automation and analytics.

- Support implementation/enhancement of planning tools (SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, etc.).

6. Governance & Compliance

- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data.

- Support internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.

- Maintain strong compliance for trade investments and commercial expenditure.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

- Professional certification (CFA, CIMA, CPA) preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Business Analysis.

- Prior experience in FMCG, Retail, Consumer Goods, or Manufacturing is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of trade spend, distributor models, and FMCG P&L.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

- Proficiency in ERP and planning tools (SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Hyperion).

- Solid understanding of FMCG value chain (Sales - Trade - Distributor - Retailer).

- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic environment.

- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
