Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Controller to lead financial reporting, consolidation, compliance, taxation, inventory management, and ERP finance process improvements across the group.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with business acumen, audit management capability, and experience in implementing or enhancing ERP finance modules (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).

This role demands hands-on leadership across finance operations, strategic reporting, process automation, and compliance governance to ensure transparency, control, and accuracy in financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation:

- Drive preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, SoCE) as per Indian Accounting Standards (AS/Ind-AS).

- Ensure subsidiaries financials follow group reporting formats for timely consolidation.

- Perform inter-company reconciliations, elimination entries, and consolidation adjustments.

- Scrutinize Trial Balance & General Ledger, identify abnormal balances, and correct discrepancies before close.

- Lead the period-end close within ERP (opening/closing periods, validation checks, reconciliations).

Analysis, Management Reporting (MIS), Forecasting & Budgeting:

- Drive the monthly MIS cycle collect, validate, and consolidate BU-level MIS reports.

- Conduct variance, ratio, and cash flow analysis; provide actionable business insights.

- Prepare Board, Audit Committee, and Investor presentations highlighting revenue, EBITDA, PBT, PAT trends and key performance indicators.

- Lead budgeting and forecasting exercises aligned with business strategy.

Audit, Compliance & Controls:

- Manage external and internal audit processes planning, coordination, and closure.

- Prepare quarterly audit plans, track progress, and ensure timely resolution of audit observations.

- Handle compliance with statutory and secretarial filings (XBRL, MSME returns, DPT-3, CSR, RPT).

- Strengthen internal control systems and financial reporting accuracy across entities.

Direct Taxation:

- Manage direct tax operations including tax audits, assessments, and statutory filings.

- Compute and report current and deferred taxes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Handle ITR, TDS/TCS, and faceless assessment proceedings in coordination with tax consultants.

Inventory Management & Product Costing:

- Establish strong inventory management controls, stock tracking, and reconciliation mechanisms.

- Design and monitor product costing frameworks (materials, labour, overheads, absorption).

- Apply consistent valuation methods (FIFO, specific cost) aligned with AS requirements.

- Generate cost variance reports (material, labour, overheads) to support cost control and profitability analysis.

- Partner with supply chain and production teams to align inventory policy with financial goals.

Indirect Taxation (GST, Customs & Others):

- Oversee GST compliance across all entities registration, classification, filing, and reconciliation.

- Manage customs compliance for imports/exports, including duty payments and documentation.

- Reconcile input tax credits, ensure correct posting of tax liabilities in financial statements.

- Stay current with regulatory changes (GST, customs duties) and implement necessary process updates.

ERP Finance & Process Improvement (Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC / ZOHO):

- Collaborate with ERP/BC implementation teams to align finance workflows with operational processes.

- Configure and oversee modules for consolidation, inventory, costing, and tax.

- Develop custom reports and dashboards (Power BI / BC reporting) for management insights.

- Automate workflows and approvals through Power Automate/BC extensions to strengthen governance.

- Manage ERP fiscal close processes, data quality, and master data integrity.

- Ensure continuous improvement through system enhancements and adoption of new BC features (AI, Copilot, automation).

Key Skills & Competencies:

- In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards (AS/Ind-AS) and Group Consolidation.

- Strong analytical, audit, and financial reporting acumen.

- Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and management reporting (MIS).

- Expertise in direct and indirect taxation, including GST and income tax compliance.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC / SAP / Oracle).

- Advanced knowledge of inventory valuation and product costing methodologies.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and strategic foresight
