Role Overview:
The Channel Development Manager will be responsible for developing and managing distribution channels across rural and urban markets for detergent and cleaning products.
The role focuses on distributor expansion, secondary sales growth, market penetration, and channel profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand and manage distributors, sub-distributors, wholesalers, and rural outlets.
- Drive primary and secondary sales across assigned territories.
- Improve product availability, visibility, and execution in rural and urban markets.
- Manage distributor performance, stock hygiene, credit, and ROI.
- Execute trade schemes, promotions, and new launches.
- Lead and monitor field teams through joint working and reviews.
- Track competition, market trends, and ensure timely reporting via SFA/CRM tools.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in detergent and cleaning categories.
- Proven expertise in rural & urban channel development.
- Distributor management and negotiation skills.
- Strong execution and field orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and SFA systems.
Qualification:
- Graduate (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred).
- 5-6 years of relevant FMCG experience;
