
- WWF-India is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with strong editorial and communication skills, as well as excellent coordination and management skills, to oversee the publication of scientific and technical outputs resulting from WWF-India's work.
- The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to coordinate the production of reports, factsheets, papers, manuals, and other materials-ensuring factual accuracy, high quality, and timely delivery.
- This will involve close collaboration with programme teams, technical experts, editors, and designers, as well as managing the final review and clearance processes.
- The candidate will also be responsible for tracking publications and supporting their release.
- Additionally, the role includes helping to strengthen the writing and documentation capacity of field and landscape teams by providing regular guidance.
- The position also offers opportunities to contribute to and support other communication initiatives related to Programme Communications.
- This position will report to: HeadProgramme Communications.
JOB PROFILE:
- Coordinate the production of reports, factsheets, papers, manuals, and other publications, ensuring factual accuracy, high quality, and timely delivery.
- Manage the review, approval, and clearance processes for all publications.
- Track and maintain records of publications, and support their dissemination and release.
- Provide support in writing, copyediting, and proofreading for both internal and external publications under tight deadlines.
- Assist in writing, editing, and proofreading content for various other communication materials as required.
- Collaborate with programme teams to develop stories and features for quarterly newsletters and other publications.
- Coordinate, plan, and manage a regular publishing cycle.
- Help create and maintain a digital archive of publications.
- Build the communication capacity of field and landscape teams in content writing through online sessions and in-person training.
- Maintain a roster of consultants and freelancers for content development and copyediting support when required.
- Develop a strong design sensibility and collaborate with designers, illustrators, and photographers to produce visually engaging and well-designed publications.
- Work collaboratively with other communications colleagues as part of an integrated communications strategy for WWF-India's programmes.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, English, Publishing, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- A Bachelor's degree in a similar field with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in editorial management, publishing, or communication roles - ideally with exposure to scientific or technical content.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end publication processes - from content development and editing to design, production, and dissemination.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including writers, editors, designers, and subject-matter experts.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of English.
- Understanding of branding, visual communication, and publication design standards.
- Project management and coordination skills to handle multiple publications simultaneously.
- Creative thinking with a strong eye for detail.
- Interest in and understanding of WWF-India's work and conservation themes.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
