Discipline Manager - Mechanical

We are seeking a highly experienced Discipline Manager - Mechanical to lead our Mechanical Engineering team and support project delivery across energy, mineral, and chemical sectors. This role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring teams, and ensuring engineering excellence across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers and Designers.

Oversee engineering deliverables across Concept, Basic, and Detailed Engineering phases.

Manage resource planning, task allocation, workload monitoring, and performance reviews.

Maintain team competency matrices and drive upskilling/reskilling initiatives.

Review and approve engineering work-hour estimates and monitor project progress.

Develop and implement departmental standards, methods, and work instructions.

Provide technical guidance and ensure quality in line with design standards.

Prepare and review equipment layouts, technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and vendor documents.

Ensure compliance with applicable national and international codes and standards.

Handle projects across Bulk Material Handling (BMH), Mineral Processing, Conveyor Design, Yard Equipment, and Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) industries.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Process, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Civil & Structural.

Support proposal and bid engineering activities.

Travel to project sites or lead offices as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

25-30 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 10 years in consultancy.

Proven track record as a Lead Mechanical Engineer managing teams and complex projects.

Strong expertise in Bulk Material Handling (BMH), Mineral Processing, Conveyor Design, Yard Equipment, and Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) projects.

Proficiency in mechanical engineering tools such as Beltstat, Sidewinder, and PV Elite.

Solid understanding of project execution metrics including productivity, scheduling, and cost control.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
