Description:
Job Title: Deputy Manager Taxation.
To manage and ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax laws, oversee tax planning and strategy, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and represent the company in tax assessments, audits, and litigation, while minimizing tax liabilities and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Review and validate tax computations and returns.
- Ensure adherence to the latest amendments in tax laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors for tax audits and assessments.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for the organization.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and assess the impact on business.
- Advise management on tax implications of business decisions.
Transfer Pricing (if applicable):
- Oversee transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are compliant with TP regulations.
- Coordinate with consultants and auditors for TP audits or assessments.
Tax Assessments & Litigation:
- Handle tax assessments, appeals, and litigation cases.
- Represent the company before tax authorities.
- Prepare and compile documentation required for assessments.
Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise with external consultants, tax advisors, and legal counsels.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, procurement) for tax-related matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement tax controls and standard operating procedures.
- Leverage technology and ERP systems for tax automation and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education: MBA (Finance) / M.com.
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws, international taxation, and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
Key Skills:
- In-depth tax knowledge (direct, indirect, international).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Leadership and team management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
