Analyst, SRH - New Delhi The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. In India, CHAI works in partnership with its India registered affiliate William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF) under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the Central and States' levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, WJCF supports government partners across projects to expand access to quality care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, tuberculosis, COVID-19, common cancers, sexual and reproductive health, immunization, and essential medicines. Project Background: - Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services are critical to government of India's Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) program, which aims to achieve population stabilisation, promote reproductive health, and reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity. WJCF works closely with the state of Madhya Pradesh to enable policy design, roll-out and implementation of SRH services with the aim to support the state government in achieving the ambitious goal of expanding access to quality and accessible RMNCHA services. The SRH team has been supporting the state in scaling access to Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) services, driving uptake of Modern, Effective and Temporary (MET) methods of contraception, addressing supply chain infirmities in family planning commodities, skilling health workers in counselling and service delivery, and identifying new approaches to improve awareness and uptake of family planning services in vulnerable communities across the state. - WJCF is also shaping the Family Planning ecosystem in India to enable introduction of new contraceptive methods with the aim of increasing contraceptive choices for women. The SRH team is driving the market shaping for new methods such as LNG 1.5 mg as pericoital pill, and Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) methods such as implants and hormonal IUDs. - Additionally, WJCF seeks to address the extensive barriers to safe abortion services in India, including lack of information, stigma, and insufficient healthcare resources. Their comprehensive strategy involves research and stakeholder engagement to develop scalable solutions, aiming to prevent maternal mortality from unsafe abortions. Position Overview: - The Analyst will support design of programs for enhancing access and utilisation of safe abortion care services in India. In addition, this role will require working on other SRH priorities, including introduction of on-demand contraceptives pill, strengthening access to sexual health, and family planning services. - The Analyst will work with the Program Manager on gathering vital evidence and insights to enhance safe abortion services in India by conducting primary and secondary research, supplier and retail landscape assessment, targeted stakeholder interviews, end-user studies; collating and synthesizing information to generate high quality insights, coordinating with donors and partners on program design and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders. They will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from quantitative analysis to content creation and assisting the team with components which will contribute to data analytics and/or demand generation and supply landscaping. The position requires travel to program implementation sites and for meetings with other stakeholders. - We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem-solving and communication skills. Conduct Primary and Secondary Research: - Conduct in-depth desk research to gather comprehensive evidence and identify gaps and discrepancies concerning regulations and legal frameworks related to SRH or family planning guidelines in India. - Analyze and synthesize data from various sources, including published studies, government reports, and policy documents. - Conduct targeted interviews with key stakeholders, including medical providers, pharmacists, and regulators to assess awareness levels, perceptions, and attitudes of stakeholders regarding SRH or family planning services and recent legal and guideline-based amendments. 2. Supplier and Retail Landscape Assessment: - Assess the landscape of suppliers and retailers involved in the distribution of SRH or family planning products. - Investigate supply chain dynamics, procurement policies, and distribution channels for SRH or family planning products in both the private and public sectors and support the development of strategies to bridge gaps. 3. Design consumer studies: - Identify and engage with a user research agency to understand awareness, beliefs, and access pathways related to SRH or family planning services among different user demographics. - Analyze data to identify opportunities for improving awareness and knowledge of SRH or family planning methods among end-users. 4. Project Management and Stakeholder Management: - Support the team in drafting implementation plans and provide support related to costing strategic plans, assisting with surveys, etc. - Support data analytics workstreams, including the development of dashboards, project tracking tools, etc. - Liaise with CHAI's global teams regarding developments in SRH or family planning in other LMICs. - Support the SRH team in identifying service delivery models to improve uptake of SRH services, modern methods of family planning, and safe abortion services (if relevant). - Coordinate project-wide outputs related to execution, implementation, reporting, compliance, and updates. - Prepare documentation and reports for dissemination of information among partners, donors, and stakeholders. 5. Additional Responsibilities: - Build relationships with key stakeholders in the SRH ecosystem, including donors, partners, relevant government departments and officials. - Support scoping for new opportunities/creating pitch documents for new grants/donors in the SRH and allied spaces including but not limited to maternal and child health, gender-based issues and identify white space opportunity areas for WJCF. - Provide operational support to the Manager to develop, plan, and implement multiple activities simultaneously. Qualifications: - Bachelor's/PG degree in economics, Public Health, Business, or a related field. - A minimum of two years professional experience in a private or public sector setting and with increasing levels of responsibility and experience. - Strong analytical skills and advanced technical proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint. - Entrepreneurial mindset: demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and solve challenging problems, in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated ability to multi-task with a strong commitment to excellence, both internally and externally, and with limited structural support. - Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging, multi-cultural environment. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling presentations that translate the results of team activities into meaningful implementation recommendations. - English and Hindi language fluency, both written and verbal. - Drafting proposals and collaborative documents. - Able to multitask with multiple stakeholders keeping WJCF ideals and goals in mind. - Effective and prompt communicator. - Able to respond to critical situations in an effective and efficient manner.
