Position Overview:



As Finance Controller, you will lead and oversee all financial operations of Hoger Offshore & Marine Pvt. Ltd. And associated group companies and subsidiaries ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. You will partner closely with senior management to drive financial performance, maintain robust internal controls, and fulfill all statutory obligations, especially those unique to shipping, marine and offshore activities.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Management:



- Prepare, review, and present timely monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements.



- Develop budgets, forecasts and cashflow models; monitor actual vs. budget.



- Implement costcontrol measures and analyse variances.

Statutory & Tax Compliance:



- Ensure endto-end compliance with all direct & indirect tax regulations.



- Coordinate quarterly & annual tax filings and liaise with tax authorities.



- Manage TDS, TCS, GST, and Incometax audits.

Shipping & Marine Regulatory Compliance:



- Oversee compliance with shipping, port, customs, and marine insurance regulations.



- Maintain records and submissions to Directorate General of Shipping and Port Authorities.



- Ensure FEMA regulations are adhered to for charter hires, foreign remittances, vessel purchases, etc.

Audit & Controls:



- Coordinate statutory, internal, and bank audits; implement audit recommendations.



- Strengthen internal control systems, policies, and procedures.



- Conduct regular risk assessments in finance & operations.

Stakeholder Management:



- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, charterers, ports and statutory bodies.



- Partner with external consultants, auditors, and legal advisors.



- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Board/Directors.

Team Leadership:



- Mentor and guide the finance & accounts team.



- Drive process improvements, automation and ERPbased integrations.

Mandatory Knowledge & Skills:



Educational & Professional:



- Qualified CA/ICWA or MBA in Finance.



- Excellent command over accounting standards (IND AS/ICAI).



Technical & Functional:



- Advanced MS Excel, ERP (Tally etc.) proficiency.



- Strong analytical, problemsolving and communication skills.

Industry-Specific Compliance:



- Deep understanding of Shipping, Marine and Offshore compliance frameworks.



- Applicable Tax, Statutory, Shipping & Marine Laws

Taxation Laws:



- Incometax Act, 1961 (including Sections on TDS/TCS)



- Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017 (GST compliance for marine services)



- Customs Act, 1962 & Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (import/export of vessels/equipment)



- Finance Act (latest annual amendments)

Corporate & Regulatory Acts:



- Companies Act, 2013 (accounts, board reports, audit requirements)



- FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999) & RBI Regulations

Shipping & MarineSpecific Regulations (Desirable and preferred not mandatory):



- Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 & subsequent amendments



- Indian Ports Act, 1908



- Coastal Shipping Guidelines (Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways)



- Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Rules & Circulars



- Marine Insurance Act, 1963



- Standards under International Maritime Organization (IMO) SOLAS, MARPOL (overview)



- Port Authority Compliance: Mumbai Port Trust & Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust regulations

Labour & Safety Laws (Seafarers):



- Merchant Shipping (Seamen) Rules, 1978



- Payment of Wages Act, 1936 (as applied to crew)



- Employees Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952



- Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Standards (Shipboard)

Desired Profile:



- 5+ years postqualification experience, preferably in shipping, marine, offshore, ports or related heavyindustry environments.



- Proven track record of managing finance functions in midtolarge organizations.



- Handson experience with tax assessments, audits and regulatory inspections.



- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fastpaced operations environment.



- High integrity, attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
