Job Summary
The Tax Manager will lead and manage State and Local Tax compliance and consulting projects for various clients across diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on state and local tax issues including income/franchise tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and credits/incentives.
- Oversee preparation and review of complex state and local income/franchise tax returns.
- Analyze and interpret state tax legislation, case law, and administrative guidance.
- Manage audits, protests, and appeals with state and local taxing authorities.
- Assist clients in identifying tax savings opportunities and implementing strategies.
- Conduct multistate tax research and prepare technical memoranda.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in multistate tax planning, compliance, and audit defense.
- Proficiency in tax research tools
