Your New Role:

- The Senior Director of Data Engineering will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of data engineering solutions on different cloud data platforms.

- This role requires extensive experience in managing large-scale data projects, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data migration, integration, and orchestration.

- The ideal candidate will also have expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), data cataloging, data governance, data security, and canonical data modeling.

- In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to the data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- You will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, ensuring that team members are motivated, skilled, and aligned with the company's goals.

- Your technical depth and hands-on experience will be crucial in guiding the team through complex technical challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of data engineering projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the data engineering team to deliver high-quality data solutions.

- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data engineering projects on different cloud platforms.

- Ensure the successful execution of large-scale data engineering projects, meeting deadlines and budget requirements.

- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.

- Partner with Data Governance team to implement Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

- Develop and maintain data catalogs to facilitate data discovery and usage.

- Ensure robust data security measures are in place to protect sensitive information.

- Design and implement canonical data models to standardize data across the organization.

- Lead ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.

- Manage data migration projects to move data between systems, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

- Oversee data integration efforts to combine data from different sources into a unified view.

- Implement data orchestration tools to automate and manage data workflows and pipelines.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

- Present data architecture, roadmap, plans, status, and risk to various stakeholders including higher management.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to improve our data infrastructure.

- Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the data platform and recommending adoption where appropriate.

- Support AI: Support the implementation of AI-powered data and analytics solutions through cutting edge tool stack availability and data democratization to enable advanced insights

Qualifications & Experiences

- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

- 18 years' experience with data platforms, cloud services (e. , AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and big data technologies

- Extensive experience with AWS services, Snowflake and its ecosystem

- Extensive executive leadership experience in data management, analytics or platform leadership related fields within a large and complex organization

- Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL processes, data integration, and analytics tools

- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

- Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams across multiple locations and disciplines

- Experience in Media and Entertainment industry is preferred.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of an organization

- Experience in transforming traditional business operations through data services and automation

- Recognized thought leader in the field of data management, with contributions to industry discussions, publications, or conferences
