Warehouse Manager - Hardware/Electronics Firm

Key Responsibilities:


Warehouse Operations:

- Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of hardware components.

- Implement and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

- Maintain real-time inventory accuracy and enforce cycle count discipline.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and optimal space utilization.

- Evaluate and introduce mechanization in warehousing where feasible.


Logistics Management:

- Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across multiple locations.

- Manage logistics partners, vendors, and 3PLs; negotiate transportation contracts.

- Track freight performance, delivery timelines, and cost metrics.

- Implement tools for monitoring shipment status, exceptions, and ETA accuracy.

- Optimize last-mile logistics for installations and deliveries.


Process Excellence & Project Management:

- Lead cross-functional logistics and inventory projects across regions.

- Design and monitor KPIs: order fulfillment, inventory turns, lead times, and accuracy.

- Drive continuous improvement in cost, time, and service metrics.

- Forecast logistics capacity needs based on business growth and sales plans.

- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency strategies.


Team & Leadership:

- Build and manage warehouse and logistics teams (supervisors, pickers, dispatch staff).

- Define training needs, onboarding plans, and conduct performance reviews.

- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.


Reporting & Management Updates:

- Provide regular MIS and dashboards to senior management covering throughput, cost, compliance, and performance.

- Prepare business reviews, performance analysis, and forecasting reports to support strategic decision-making.


Financial Control & Profitability:

- Control warehouse operating expenses and improve cost-to-serve ratios.

- Oversee vendor invoices, labor payments, and ensure accuracy in customer billing.

- Analyze profitability across warehouses, identify leakage areas, and implement corrective actions.


Recruitment & Resource Planning:

- Coordinate with HR for hiring warehouse staff and critical logistics roles.

- Build strong operational bench strength with emphasis on training and capability development.


Requirements:


- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.


- 5+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations (preferably in hardware, electronics, or similar sectors).

- Proven experience managing multi-location warehouse setups and 3PL operations.

- Proficiency in WMS, inventory planning tools, and Excel-based analysis.

- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with ISO standards, regulatory compliance, and EHS practices.
