Wakefit - Supply Chain Coach - Lean/Six Sigma

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Supply Chain Coach (Lean / Six Sigma) who will ensure that concepts taught in classroom sessions such as Lean, Six Sigma, and operations excellence are practically implemented by Graduate Trainees and Management Trainees in live operational environments, including warehouses, last-mile hubs, and distribution centers.

This role combines coaching + independent project leadership.

The Coach will:

- Mentor trainees to apply theoretical concepts in real settings, and

- Independently lead cross-functional operations improvement and process excellence projects that drive measurable business impact.

The ideal candidate has both hands-on SCM experience and strong process excellence/lean capabilities, along with a coaching mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coaching & On-Floor Application:

- Coach trainees on Lean, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering basics, 5S, VSM, RCA, PDCA, DMAIC.

- Guide trainees during real-time warehouse walkthroughs, layout observation, bottleneck analysis, and process audits.

- Convert theoretical concepts into step-by-step methods trainees can use on the ground.

- Monitor trainees' ability to analyze data, identify waste, and propose improvements.

2. Training Reinforcement & Capability Building:

- Collaborate with external Lean/Six Sigma trainers to maintain continuity between classroom and field application.

- Develop checklists, reference sheets, SOPs, and process templates for trainee use.

- Conduct hands-on simulations, Gemba walks, problem-solving circles, and practical workshops.

3. Trainee Evaluation & Performance Tracking:

- Design evaluation frameworks and rubrics to assess trainees objectively.

- Review projects, assignments, and improvement charters prepared by trainees.

- Provide structured feedback to L&D;, HR, and supply chain leadership.

- Identify strengths, gaps, and development plans for each trainee.

4. Independent Operations Improvement & Process Excellence Projects:

- Independently lead operations excellence initiatives across warehouses, transport, and network operations.

- Drive projects related to throughput improvement, warehouse productivity enhancement, inventory accuracy, shrinkage reduction, slotting/picking optimization, layout redesign, material flow improvement, SOP creation, cost reduction, and cycle time reduction.

- Work with cross-functional teams to implement, track, and sustain improvements.

- Use Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, Kaizen, VSM, bottleneck analysis, SPC) to deliver measurable impact.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Partner with warehouse managers, regional operations heads, central planning, transport teams, and HR/L&D.

- Ensure coaching outcomes are tied to business KPIs accuracy, throughput, cost, quality, and SLA adherence.

- Publish periodic performance dashboards for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Experience in Process Excellence / Process Design & Implementation.

- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt mandatory

- Black Belt preferred

- Demonstrated ability to apply Lean/Six Sigma tools in real operational environments.

- Experience leading cross-functional Ops or OE projects end-to-end.

Technical Skills:

- Expertise in Lean tools: Kaizen, VSM, 5S, takt time, waste identification.

- Strong grasp of Six Sigma: DMAIC, RCA, Pareto, FMEA, SPC.

- Data-driven problem solving using Excel/Sheets, Power BI(optional), and WMS basics.

- Exposure to warehouse operations preferred.

Behavioral Skills:

- Strong coaching/mentoring mindset.

- Ability to simplify complex ideas.

- Analytical and structured problem solver.

- Comfortable working on shop floor/warehouse environments.

- High ownership and autonomy.
