Description:
As Business Head Mattress Category/Furnishing & Decor, you will lead Wakefits mattress business end-to-end. You will own the P&L, growth strategy, sourcing, supply chain, operations, and marketplace performance, while fostering a high-performing, innovative, and motivated team.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a mix of vision, execution rigor, entrepreneurial thinking, and obsession with high-impact initiatives. You will identify future opportunities to stay ahead of the curve, drive zeroed-down initiatives, and inspire your team to innovate and deliver results like owners of the business.
Visionary & Entrepreneurial Leadership
- Identify long-term innovations, product, service, and business initiatives to stay ahead of market trends and competition.
- Think and act like an entrepreneur, taking calculated risks and making proactive decisions that drive business impact.
- Translate vision into actionable strategies and measurable outcomes for revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Be obsessed with initiatives, focusing the team on high-impact programs that deliver real results.
Business & P&L Ownership (Key Metrics)
- Full accountability for Revenue Market Share and Cost Profitability of the mattress category.
- Optimize pricing, channel mix, portfolio, and cost levers to maximize financial performance.
- Track category performance, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions to achieve targets.
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Lead sourcing strategies for raw materials, manufacturing partners, and product variants.
- Ensure suppliers meet cost, quality, capacity, and scalability objectives.
- Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supply Chain Planning & Operations
- Own S&OP processes, production schedules, inventory management, and fulfillment operations.
- Remove bottlenecks and optimize the supply chain to prevent stock-outs and ensure operational readiness.
- Implement scalable processes and frameworks to support long-term growth.
Marketing & Marketplace Leadership
- Partner with marketing to design high-ROI campaigns, growth experiments, and promotional strategies.
- Lead negotiations and execution for marketplace partnerships to maximize visibility and revenue.
- Identify product, service, or bundle initiatives to unlock revenue and improve market share.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Inspire, mentor, and enable your team to think creatively, generate initiatives, and own outcomes.
- Live and model Wakefits values through leadership, decision-making, and daily interactions.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking across the team.
- Drive governance, KPI tracking, and structured business reviews to ensure focus on results.
Candidate Profile / Skills
- Proven P&L ownership in consumer, D2C, or e-commerce businesses.
- Strong expertise in sourcing, supply chain, planning, and operations.
- Visionary and entrepreneurial mindset: ability to identify and execute future growth initiatives.
- Experience with marketplace commerce, campaign management, ROAS, and growth experiments.
- Strong leadership skills: inspire teams, foster creativity, and build high-performing cultures.
- Analytical, data-driven, and commercially astute.
- Prior experience in mattresses, furniture, consumer durables, or home solutions preferred.
- MBA or equivalent preferred; engineering/operations background advantageous.
