Position Overview:
- We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Workday Financials Functional Lead with 8-10 years of experience in financial systems management.
- This role is responsible for overseeing the configuration, optimization, and support of Workday Financials modules, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and alignment with organizational financial strategies.
- The ideal candidate will lead a team of analysts, collaborate with business stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the functional oversight and optimization of Workday Financials modules, including:
- Financial Data Model (FDM), Financial Accounting, Business Assets, Budgets & Forecasting, Tax, Projects, Procurement, Expenses, Banking & Settlements, Customer Accounts, Suppliers, and Customer Contracts.
- Partner with Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business requirements and operational goals.
- Configure and enhance Workday modules to support evolving business needs, ensuring rigorous documentation, testing, and communication of system changes.
- Provide strategic and hands-on support to Finance teams, guiding them through issue resolution, best practices, and process optimization.
- Act as the primary escalation point for incidents, service requests, and inquiries from internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Lead Workday bi-annual release management, including feature evaluation, testing coordination, documentation, and end-user communication.
- Design, maintain, and deliver custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to support financial reporting and strategic decision-making.
- Manage security roles and access controls within Workday to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to optimize finance operations.
- Serve as a Named Support Contact with Workday, overseeing the management of support cases and implementation partner coordination.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in Workday.
- Demonstrated success in leading Workday Financials implementations, upgrades, and ongoing support.
- Deep functional knowledge across key Workday modules listed above.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday certification(s) in one or more Financial modules.
- Experience in a global, multi-entity, or enterprise-level environment.
