Position Overview:

Head PMO is typically the executive responsible for delivering the complete transmission portfolio from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Commercial Operation Date (COD) within approved cost, schedule, quality, safety, and regulatory commitments.

Role Purpose:

Lead the end-to-end execution of the company's transmission project portfolio by ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective and high-quality delivery of all transmission line, substation, and associated infrastructure projects, while maximizing project profitability, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational capability. The role provides leadership to Project Directors, Construction, Planning, Contracts, Project Controls, Commercial, and Interface Management teams and acts as the single point of accountability for project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Leadership:

- Lead execution of multiple transmission projects simultaneously.

- Manage portfolio worth 5,00020,000+ crore.

- Prioritize resources across projects.

- Drive portfolio-level governance.

- Establish project execution strategy.

- Review project health weekly.

- Ensure achievement of COD commitments.

2. Project Governance:

Establish governance mechanisms including:

- Weekly Project Review

- Executive Steering Committee

- Monthly Portfolio Review

- Risk Review

- Cost Review

- Claims Review

- Interface Review

Ensure every project has:

- Baseline Schedule

- Critical Path

- Cost Baseline

- Resource Plan

- Risk Register

- Recovery Plan

3. Leadership Competencies:

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience & Technical Background:

- 2025+ years in transmission EPC or utility infrastructure.

- Proven delivery of 400 kV, 765 kV, HVDC, GIS/AIS substations, and interstate transmission systems.

- Managed portfolios exceeding 10,000 crore.

- Strong expertise in EPC contracting, project controls, claims management, and statutory clearances.

- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across multiple concurrent projects.

- Familiarity with tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) and regulated transmission projects is highly desirable.
