Job Purpose:
The Customer Quality Manager is responsible for leading customer quality assurance initiatives across regions, ensuring delivery excellence and strong customer satisfaction.
This role involves managing a team of quality engineers, driving quality performance metrics such as PPM and warranty costs, and serving as the key interface with OEM customers for all quality-related matters.
The position requires strong expertise in automotive quality standards, proactive problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues and implement preventive improvements.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers on quality-related matters, providing timely updates and resolutions.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 6 - 10 Customer Quality Engineers across North and South regions, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Quality Roadmap to achieve PPM (Parts Per Million) and Warranty Cost (WC) targets.
- Ensure effective deployment and adherence to all customer-specific requirements across processes and products.
- Lead Customer Concern Review meetings with cross-functional teams (CFT) and ensure effective action planning and execution.
- Monitor and validate the effectiveness of Immediate Corrective Actions (ICA) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA); drive preventive measures, recurrence avoidance, and horizontal deployment.
- Ensure robust Safe Launch support at customer sites during Job#1 and up to 90 days post-launch.
- Drive continuous reduction of OE PPM through structured problem-solving and customer engagement.
- Conduct 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) audits and present findings and improvement plans to management.
Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 15+ years of experience in Customer Quality, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Extensive experience working with global and Indian OEMs; exposure to Japanese OEMs is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Materials, Logistics, and Finance.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex quality issues for leadership decision-making.

Critical experiences required to be ready for this job:
- Mandatory experience in Automotive Electronics (Auto Electronics) domain.
- Deep expertise in quality methodologies and standards including 8D, IATF 16949, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, and SPC.
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- In-depth knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) across OEMs.

- Travel: Frequent travel required to customer locations across North and South regions.
