Job Title: Head of Business Development (Real Estate Acquisition)

Purpose of the Role:


The Head of Real Estate Acquisition will be responsible for identifying and executing strategic business expansion opportunities.

This includes scouting and finalizing new locations, managing end-to-end property acquisition processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role demands a strong blend of real estate expertise, legal knowledge, stakeholder management, and business acumen to drive growth and strengthen the organization's market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Expansion & Site Acquisition:


- Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify new locations and potential areas for business expansion.

- Analyze demographic, economic, and competitive factors to select sites aligned with the organizations growth strategy.

- Oversee the entire property acquisition lifecycle, including negotiations, documentation, and legal due diligence.

- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and zoning requirements for new sites.

- Develop and maintain a strong network of real estate agents, landlords, and property consultants to facilitate location identification and acquisition.

Government Liaison & Regulatory Compliance:


- Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies to facilitate licensing and approvals.

- Ensure timely procurement of all required permits and legal documentation for store openings.

- Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting property acquisition and business expansion.

Business Development & Strategic Growth:


- Identify and develop new business opportunities through partnerships, collaborations, and strategic alliances.

- Explore innovative market expansion strategies to increase the companys footprint.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, investors, and industry leaders.

- Attend industry events and networking forums to remain informed on market trends and opportunities.

- Drive initiatives to enhance the value of existing locations while enabling entry into new markets.

Marketing & Sales Initiatives:


- Oversee the development of marketing strategies to support new store openings and expansion plans.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute local brand awareness campaigns in new geographies.

- Research competitors and evolving market dynamics to refine expansion strategies.

Team Leadership & Development:


- Lead and mentor the real estate acquisition/business development team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

- Set team targets, monitor performance, and drive accountability toward business growth outcomes.

- Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to enhance team capability and performance.

Candidate Profile:

Education:


- Bachelors or masters degree in business administration, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:


- 10+ years of experience in real estate, business development, or retail expansion, with a proven track record of successful location acquisition and market growth.

Skills & Competencies:


- Deep understanding of property acquisition, leasing, and real estate compliance.

- Strong negotiation skills and experience in site selection and feasibility analysis.

- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.

- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

- Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Willingness to travel extensively for site visits, meetings, and industry events.
