Vice President - Technology & Engineering - Digital Payments

Role Overview:

We are looking for a senior technology leader to own the technology, engineering, architecture and scalability of a large-scale digital payments platform. The role will work closely with senior leadership to drive platform modernization, operational excellence, innovation and technology-led business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a large team; technology/engineering organization across platform engineering, architecture and technology operations.

- Own platform architecture, modernization, scalability, performance and resilience for high-volume payment systems.

- Drive adoption of AI, automation, cloud and modern engineering practices to enhance platform capabilities and engineering productivity.

- Own production readiness, release governance, critical deployments and major incident decision-making.

- Ensure robust security, networking, infrastructure, disaster recovery and high-availability across the platform.

- Partner with Product and Business leadership to translate strategic priorities into scalable technology solutions.

- Drive technology initiatives that improve platform efficiency, transaction economics and overall profitability.

- Build a strong culture of engineering excellence, innovation, automation and continuous improvement.

Ideal Profile:

- 17 - 20 years of technology/engineering experience, preferably from UPI, digital payments, fintech or large-scale transaction platforms.

- Proven experience managing atleast 50+ member engineering teams and senior technology stakeholders.

- Strong expertise in large-scale architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud, microservices and high-availability platforms.

- Hands-on understanding of production environments, release management, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity.

- Track record of driving AI-led innovation, automation and technology transformation.

- Strong commercial orientation with the ability to connect technology strategy with business growth and profitability.

- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and executive stakeholder management skills.
